I saw the newsclip, too, and it was dated 1997, 15 years ago. Since then, Newt got his act together, quit his day job in the House and after 5 or 6 years, cleared his name of all 84 ethics charges. The 1997 ad, of course, does not mention that fact.
There's no mistake, being a Speaker of the House garners enemies, but each party thinks the other is stupid and votes, acts, and speaks accordingly.
My mama used to sit everyone in the corner when she couldn't figure out who was right or wrong in the caterwauling, or if everyone just had an agenda from a previous slugfest.
If the candidates keep doing that to each other instead of arguing the issues, I'm afraid it will not end well.
I did last time, but this time, I will not vote for the guy the opposite party is rooting for, I don't care how many millions of dollars he drops into the local economy to buy votes, and I'm getting to think donating to political campaigns is wasteful spending.
