"Energy Secretary Steven Chu to take the fall for Solyndra.

Secretary Chu will take “full responsibility” today for the government’s decision to throw a half-billion’s worth of taxpayer money into a failing energy company, despite its own watchdogs’ recommendations (and the government’s decision to pressure Solyndra into not reporting layoffs until after the ’10 midterms) – while at the same time insisting that nothing untoward occurred. In other words, Chu will not take any kind of responsibility at all.

But this is not about ‘responsibility.’ This is merely the next step in the resignation game. Chu will be grilled today on this topic:

In advance of Thursday’s hearing, investigators with the Republican led committee released the latest batch of internal emails it has reviewed. Among them were emails that suggested that Energy officials asked the company to delay layoffs at its California facility until after the Nov. 2 midterm elections.

The two congressmen leading the investigation, Reps. Fred Upton (Mich.) and Cliff Stearns (Fla.) released a statement saying they hope Chu’s testimony will “shed light on key questions about the decision-making inside the Department of Energy and the role of other agencies and officials, from the Office of Management and Budget to the west wing of the White House.”

Secretary Chu will then be expected to beat his breast a bit. Then the President will express his ‘full confidence’ in his ‘embattled’ Secretary, which will be the signal for Republicans to release still more damaging revelations on the subject. Shortly thereafter, Chu will announce his resignation, in order to ‘spend more time with his family.’ End result: one Energy Secretary gone and a ‘tarnished’ administration."

Doesn't matter how many fall on their swords over this debacle. Barry's still the guy who's been beating the green jobs drum since day one, visited the place in his cheerleader outfit, etc. And it will all be replayed for the taxpaying voters in the current TV ad and others likely to follow between now and the election. Billions of tax dollars down the drain via Obama's campaign cronies. My that's a catchy tune for voters to dance to.

uhmmm, not so fast, I want to know who from the WH oked the call to Solynrda asking them to NOT announce their lay off untill the elections were over.

And, who OKed the reversal of the typical government agreement, that the gov. is the FIRST paid with auction and bankruptcy proceeds NOT, the hedge fund and money guys, that is not doable by the DOE even if they wanted to.

Chu doesn't give a shit about politics granted, which is exactly why thats not his bucket of shit to carry, its Carol Browners and............ :eusa_whistle:

The ending comments about Secretary Chu's performance: high degree of "mismanagement and ineptitude." Nobama did throw him under the bus and Chu finished the job by diving under it.

"Dancing with the White House" could be the next reality show.

I want to know when the indictments will be handed down from the DOJ for breaking the law with regard to putting the private investors (Obama's buddies) ahead of the taxpayers.

Wasn't it Rahm who said he "forgot" all about whatever he said in his emails?

I don't think this is quite the end of it.

Someone needs to set down Rahm Emmanuel and tell that little pantywaist he will remember and he will tell the truth about his and Obama's push to get the Treasury to stay up at night counting out the money to Solyndra.

I hope the American people tell them in November 2012 how little they think of bilking taxpayers for these financial flophouses they're hiding under a green leaf flag.

They're not grown jobs. They're growing rich.

SO OBVIOUS!!!! I wonder how much of the taxpayer's money THIS will cost us???

Thank you Dittoheads/Foxbots/Moonies for all the premature BS. Turns out Sol. is the only one of 38 solar projects to go out of business, the e mail's warning was about a situation that never happened, there's no evidence of any political input, solar panels price went down 70% (very unexpectedly), and everthing you know is BS Pub propaganda. Change the channel, shytteheads...and crappy citizens to boot...Heil Rev. Moon!! This too will blow over in no time to be added to the Pub BS list of scandals with no basis in fact. MORONS!!

LOL. Only 1/2 a billion? Peanuts, just ask Bushie baby and Darth Cheney. Look at the amount Haliburton got away with, then moved their company to Dubai.

We either get serious about competeing on solar with China, or we give them the whole of the technology. Along the way their will be bad investments. Solyandra was one of them. There will be more. However, they are not killing our soldiers with incompetant contractors, and feeding them contaminated water and food as Haliburton did, with you fellows cheering the whole way.

You still aimin' that flotilla at Americans, franco? lol

And I've read extensively on Solyndra.

It's one of Obama's trillion-dollar taxpayer boondoggle businesses granted guarantees through his hopey-changey quid pro quo ripoff schema masquerading as business interests.

You know how I know? I know by how many people like Rahm Emanuel have already "forgotten" about emails that would put anyone else behind bars, that's how I know.

And there's no need for the ad hominems. We're liable to pay for Obama and his one-upmanship over the American taxpayers. He can't, because he's busy feathering his own nest and those of 2,000 other people he's giving out half-billion dollar payouts to other than Solyndra.

He's using the U.S. Treasury for his repayment piggy bank to people who supported buying his campaign for him in 2008. That's gonna end now.

Hanky?

Halliburton is not going bankrupt and has delivered many services to the American people as requested by several administrations, including the Obama administration while under fire from terrorists.

Here's the latest on Halliburton headquarters which I just bingd:

"Halliburton's headquarters (North Belt office) are located in Harris County, in northern Houston, Texas, near George H.W. Bush Intercontinental Airport. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Halliburton"

You been drinkin' way too much koolaid at Huff and Puff Post, etc. :lmao:
