Can we start blaming Christie for New Jersey's 9.6% unemployment rate?

You really need to look at ALL of NJs problems not just the unemployment rate. The jobs and the wealthy are moving elsewhere, the tax rates are excessive, the unions were problematic, NJ was a real mess.
Why Christie is becoming a rock-star is that he is actually driving the bus, "righting the ship" and making very difficult very positive fiscal changes. As opposed to the dems' policies borrowing more and more with no goal in sight, just bankrupting the US as the Debt moves higher and higher.

...unless he sees that the best way to help NJ is to fix the US fiscal mess...

No Republican has a viable plan to 'fix' our fiscal 'mess'.

Not viable only because the yapping class considers halting the explosion of the growth of government as not viable.

Not viable because the GOP hasn't shown the "plan". Just a vague list of regurgitated and oft disproved talking points. Next?

The halt of the explosive growth of the government is the plan.

How is the antithesis of that working out now?

Really? And HOW do they plan to do this, exactly?

No Republican OR Democrat has a viable plan to "fix" our fiscal "mess". Both parties only have one plan ever....to keep and increase their power. This is proven after every election and yet we keep electing the same ones over and over. When it comes down to actually voting, many feel that all are bad except their guy and then they proceed to vote for them again. We need to start over with all of them as the new bunch will hopefully remember what happened to the last bunch. If we send that message enough times, they may actually get it.

Is Paul Ryan the same as Barney Frank? Is Marco Rubio the same as Harry Reid?

Paul Ryan does not have a viable plan.

The same way that Christie is working to fix NJ. By cutting costs, entitlements, by shrinking the size of government, and by growing the economy.
What happened to Obama's going after the off-shore tax evaders? Did he get beat down, or were they bought-off?

Let's see
He's white=check
He's fat= Check
He's old=check
He could easily get the nomination, the rest of the nation is over the Saprano's

You're fighting the last war, where it was McCain's "turn" to get the GOP nomination. If Romney gets it you could say its his turn since he came in 2nd in 2008.
If Christie gets the nomination it will be because the Tea Party folks pushed the most electable-competent candidate thru.
I don't see any geezers in the top GOP nominees.

So are you for Christie or someone else??

I was addressing the statement that "No republican has a viable plan to fix our fiscal mess". Those that see politics through the partisan lens have a truly lopsided view of what most politicians are all about. Based on what party is in power now and the current economic state this country is in, and based on the growth of govt during the Bush years, the evidence would prove my statement to be accurate. You disagree?

I don't live in NJ, so your question is moot. I do, however, like the fact that Christie is attempting to cut state govt spending, reduce the state deficit and is standing up to the special interests and unions in NJ.
