everywhere and nowhere
With all the talk about muslim extremism, we must consider the possibility that the Hutaree are just the tip of the iceberg. With over 1/3 of conservatives and 1/4 of self-proclaimed Republicans polled entertaining the idea that Obama is the bilbical antichrist , Fox New Channel turning to a self-proclaimed end-times prophet to explain events in Wisconsin, and the violent rhetoric of the Right, are we witnessing the birth of a new generation of Right wing fundamentalism? Right-wing terrorists have struck before, and have a record of justifying murder to achieve their political aims- with calls for more.

So perhaps we should stop worrying so much about the Muslim Brotherhood and look a little closer to home.

You really are an idiot, aren't you.

The Hutaree are not Christians. I would also like to point out that, despite the claims of the government, they have committed no terrorist acts. They also have not been convicted of anything yet, so they are still innocent.

As for the rest, get back to me when Christians start blowing themselves up in supermarkets or something. Until then, you will remain an idiot. Actually, you will be an idiot after that, but you will actually think you are right.

You can be free from "Christian Extremism" in Iran.

we should be concerned about ALL extremists

and i'm not sure I would consider this the BIRTH of conservative christian extremism since you can find books and articles by evangelical conservative christians discussing the culture war/the end times and their RIGHT to have America delclared a "christian nation" dating back to the 1970's (earlier, even).....((always.....and forever.....))

Ok, all you stoned and sexually perverted liberals! Be sure to keep an eye on those conservatives! There's something fishy about the way they bathe everyday, go the church every Sunday and the way they teach their children right from wrong! I wonder what those conservatives are up to?

Idiot! The problem is this country has forgotten the FACT that this country was founded on Christian principals by men who were largely Christian. Stop blaming the rightwing, it is the leftwing that is the problem.

Nah, I don't think so.

Yes, some Christians are nutters - like those who believe Obama may be the anti-Christ - but most Christians reject violence. Christians pose no threat relative to the Islamic extremists who want to take us back to the 8th century. They may want to take us back to the 18th century maybe, but not 8th!

The Hutaree are not Christians.

"Jesus wanted us to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment,"

"The Hutaree will one day see its enemy and meet him on the battlefield if so God wills it. We will reach out to those who are yet blind in the last days of the kingdoms of men and bring them to life in Christ."
I would also like to point out that, despite the claims of the government, they have committed no terrorist acts.

Because they were stopped in time.
They also have not been convicted of anything yet, so they are still innocent.

So about all those people at Baghram and Guantanamo...

Real IRA?

yeah and by that time those Christians had stopped killing people for being witches.

Christian principles like slavery? No matter how you're treated?

The FF weren't Christians, but servants of Satan who rebelled against God.

Romans 13 said:
1 Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God. 2 Consequently, whoever rebels against the authority is rebelling against what God has instituted, and those who do so will bring judgment on themselves. 3 For rulers hold no terror for those who do right, but for those who do wrong. Do you want to be free from fear of the one in authority? Then do what is right and you will be commended. 4 For the one in authority is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, for rulers do not bear the sword for no reason. They are God’s servants, agents of wrath to bring punishment on the wrongdoer. 5 Therefore, it is necessary to submit to the authorities, not only because of possible punishment but also as a matter of conscience. 6 This is also why you pay taxes, for the authorities are God’s servants, who give their full time to governing. 7 Give to everyone what you owe them: If you owe taxes, pay taxes; if revenue, then revenue; if respect, then respect; if honor, then honor.

Hutaree Website: Christian Militia Raided by FBI were "Preparing for the Anti-Christ" - Crimesider - CBS News

A quote from the website reads: "Jesus wanted us to be ready to defend ourselves using the sword and stay alive using equipment."

According to a website purportedly run by the group, Hutaree.com, Hutaree are Christian "soldiers"

Maybe you should look closer at the subject about which you started this thread before shooting your mouth off. Novel concept, eh?

The reason so many Christians believe that Obama may be the Antichrist is that his name just happens to be the words Jesus used in Luke, translated from Hebrew, to describe Satan. That's not nutter tinfoil hat theory, the translation is accurate. Some people have chosen to follow their faith and take the translation at face value because the statistical probability of that occurring are astronomical. Not impossible, of course, which is where the proportionality that comes with subjectivity enters into it.

You can prove the translation for yourself if you have the intellectual courage and honesty. THIS THREAD on this board by me explains how you can easily get an online translator and check it for yourself, if you're honest enough to see what it is that people think that you clearly do not understand because you didn't do your homework on this subject..
