Chris Christie is dead on about Obama and the super committee

Chris Christie called it right and let him have it. What a sorry excuse for a President we have. It's completely embarrassing. I can't wait for next November to get here.

I agree. He makes a great COMMENTATOR-in-Chief, but we don't need someone to tell us his views while also sitting there handing off responsibility to some established comittee for political reasons. A President is supposed to engage with both sides, and actually begin to DO what he campaigned on where "unlike Hillary he could work effectively across a partisian divide". If he doesn't have the SPINE to take up the mantle of responsibility to make an executive decision, he would have better served America amongst the other senators.

Ah..so you don't think the Osama Bin Laden thing shows a spine, eh?

Okay.

In any case..he's got a situation that's as bad..or worse then Clinton had..in that conservatives do not see President Obama..as President. Conservative Senators and Representatives are banking on the notion that if they "nullify" this President and do nothing..the public at large will not vote for him next election cycle.

Although it takes a real long time for most people to see what's happening, they will and I'm thinking that tactic is going to backfire in a big way. In any case..they are setting up a template for Democrats who've already taken the "sexual behavior is fair play" meme from Republicans and ran with it. Did you like that one? Wait for the next time a Republican is President. Because you guys are the ones who think obstructionism is valid.

Rush said so..by the way.

Is it fair that the corps are doing great while the American people got screwed?

Yes it is fair to not ask poor people to pay fed taxes rather than feed their kids

You're right. Let's tax all those evil corporations until they relocate to Sri Lanka.

That will feed a lot of children here.

Why is it when they got massive tax cuts during the Bush administration, that's exactly what they did..eh?

I don't believe that Bush did much for corporations. Maybe that is why they left.

Of course, they were leaving already. Our tax system up to that point was pretty bad when in came to corps.

Well, the first part of your post is a wet dream. but we will ignore that.

Let's hope we do have an obstructed government for the next 20 years. That would music to a conservative's ear.

If the dems won't help on deficit reduction, the country will bankrupt. And we will start over. Only this time, you can bet that S.S. and mediare will only be words in history books.

Why they left was they could pay pennies on the dollar for labor costs..and still have all the benefits of being an American company. And..sell their product to Americans.

That's why they left.

And how do the vast majority of Americans feel about the obstruction from the right?

They fucking hate it

It wasn't a wet dream, chief..it's a fact. Got it?

Obama was Commander-In-Chief at the time. He was lawfully voted into power by the American public..and this President really did win the popular vote. He promised that he would get Bin Laden..and he did, unlike Bush..who gave up the search.

The Democrats ARE helping with deficit reduction via "The Trigger" and the expiration of the Bush Tax cuts. Like it or not.

OUT OF OPTIONS, MORE FAMILIES LIVING IN THEIR CARS

Read more: Recession hits families hard as half of Americans fear they won't be able to do their holiday shopping | Mail Online

As time passes and unemployment continues to hover at 9.1 per cent, benefit payments dry up and homeless shelters face constant capacity.

A 60 Minutes segment dedicated time to telling the stories of the growing group of Florida children who now live in their family's cars as they run out of options.

There are now 16 million children now living in poverty nationally, and one third of those children are in Florida.

Though the efforts of food banks and shelter do help, they are not enough as many are now forced to adopt a new alternative.

One of the families profiled was the Metzgers, led by father Tom who lost his job as a carpenter. Mr Metzger and his two children- Arielle, 15, and Austin, 13- live together in a small truck. The children's mother died when they were young.

'It's an adventure,' Arielle told CBS' Scott Pelley.

'It's not really that much of an embarrassment. I mean, it's only life. You do what you need to do, right?' she said.

Other families told stories of the fear they had during the night, afraid that people would rob them in their cars for the little money they have.

Some have worked out partnerships with motels that allow them to stay even though they have run out of cash, using their labour to repaint rooms as payment instead.

And those poor families is who YOU want to raise taxes on so we can leave the wealthy a great BIG tax cut.

You forget you hate the poor

What a minute Amoeba.. you just stated all is cheery, wonderful.. now you're blaming me for people living in cars.. Make up your single celled mind. Which is it?

I gave cold hard data which lyou refused to comment on.

You forgot you hate the poor and want them to pay taxes instead of eating

Someone needs to tell Christie that is the legislative branch's duty. It is the height of hypocrisy for any republican, who have been nothing more than roadblocks, to criticize Obama when they - the republicans - have done nothing. Nothing.

Of course he distanced himself from the super committee.

Look at the whining and gnashing of teeth if he is involved in anything. Congress needs to do their job and stop expecting the president to do it for them.

Isnt' "leadership" supposed to be one of his roles? When did Obama ever lead on anything? The budget deal got done only because they asked him to leave.

It's hard to take Obama's position serious when he's chosen instead to laugh it up with the ladies on The View, or touring amongst the late night circuit, while the economy is in need of recovery. If he spent more time doing his job, seeking from his advisors and Congress another approach for getting Americans back to work, Nancy Pelosi might still have her job in the House. Instead all they came up with for 2009-2010 is ONE stimulus package, that failed to bring the unemployment numbers down, before moving onto his own liberal "check list".

Well that..and they criticize him for going to Congress and making speeches. As well as having meetings with Republicans.

You guys can't nail these guys down on what exactly they want the guy to do. Other then resign.

I guess you missed where the UE numbers shot up to around 10% or so before the stimulus and went down to around 9.1% or so after the stimulus. Add in we've had Republican governors all over the place taking credit for rescuing their budgets by using Stimulus money..like Rick Perry and Bobby Jindal.

What the Republicans won on in 2010 was advocating that the scary black President was going to introduce death panels, have FEMA camps that would be snatching up children in the middle of the night, would cut grandma's medicaid and they were the ones that were going to get everyone jobs.

What did they do?

Introduce bills banning abortion, ludicrious tax cuts, a zany amendment to the Constitution that set a limit to spending and regulation cuts. Add in Issa's complete waste of time looking for corruption and for the millionth time trying to drag implementation of clean air regulations.

That's not going to bode well.

No, the whole Clinton comparison is a wet dream.

Looking forward to those spending cuts too.

Get your facts straight, unemployment was 6.7% before the stimulus passed then shot up to 10% after the stimulus. If you are looking at a 0.9% reduction in unemployment as a success that's pathetic!! You might also want to check out the Underemployment numbers as well before you start boasting the success of the stimulus:

underemployment rate held stable at 2.1% in both periods (provisional figure for January - March 2009).

Underemployment Rate Soars To 16.5 Percent

Underemployment, where desperate workers take jobs that are not meeting their desired compensation, hours or level of skill and experience, increased to 16.5% in June from 16.4% in May. The underemployment rate last month was the highest since the Labor Department started tracking it in 1994.

"[16.5% is] the real amount if unemployed people out there. If anything you see wage growth is not there, hourly earnings and the workweek is lower. Now you have a recipe that is a mess here, because nothing is improving.

Not going to go on second or third hand sources..particularly from a partisan website.
