Chinese Schools to Integrate Israeli Technology in English Instruction
Technology developed by an Israeli company will assist hundreds of thousands of Chinese school children learn English beginning in the coming year.

Infinite Memory, which develops silicon-based media storage products, announced Thursday that it has signed an exclusive partnership with XGL (Jiangsu Xinguanglian Technology), one of China's largest optical media vendors.

The Chinese partner will distribute the Israeli firm's One-Time- Programmable (OTP) flash memory card that is designed for use with MP3 media players.

The memory cards, which contain the complete English instruction materials taught during an academic year, are slated to gradually replace the analog cassette players currently used in Chinese public schools.

"We're proud that a market leader like XGL chose our technology as their next-generation platform," Chief Executive Officer Ramy Langer told Xinhua.

FBI busts international plot to smuggle US military tech to China
Thursday 26th April, 2012 - An international plot to provide China with highly classified American military technology has been busted, according to US federal agents.
The US authorities arrested two Taiwanese nationals after they told American undercover agents they were working for 'associates' in the Chinese intelligence community and wanted to buy a surveillance drone and stealth technology related to the U.S.'s F-22 Raptor fighter jet. According to court documents released today, FBI said that the plot was foiled during a previous investigation into the pair's alleged involvement in a multi-million dollar counterfeit goods smuggling scheme and crystal methamphetamine operation.

The men, 45-year-old Hui Sheng Shen, also known as 'Charlie,'and 41-year-old Huan Ling Chang, known as 'Alice,' have been charged with violating the Arms Export Control Act along with related drug charges and could face life in prison, ABC News reports. The FBI also said a drug smuggling middleman in Hong Kong unknowingly led undercover agents to Shen and Chang who apparently acted in the US on behalf of a larger drug syndicate.

According to the report, when the agents tried to learn who exactly Shen and Chang worked for, Chang began to say they had 'special status'and could not travel to countries like the U.S. and the U.K. Shen, however, interrupted and said 'they are spies,' the report said. The undercover operation ended in February 2012 when FBI agents met with Shen and Chang to 'finalize' a major drug deal and allow the pair to take pictures of some sensitive US military technology.
