Ever read Sun-Tzu? Throughout history, Asian militaries have always taken a consistent approach to war. Make the enemy think you have no reason or intent to attack. Appear weak or vulnerable if you are in fact strong. And, throughout history, the absolute sneak attack has been used by Asian militaries. Kinda like Pearl Harbor.

I've read Sun-Tzu. The very last thing he advocates for is war. Then he goes on to describe how to conduct it.

And "ambush" is about the most effective tactic employed in war. Everyone uses it.

Iran is in the backyard of both Russia and China who both have heavily Muslim populations. The only reason we need to get involved is to mediate peace between three countries that are not friends. Iran is heavily Muslim. China is mostly atheist with a sizable Muslim population. Same with Russia, even though orthodoxy has been making somewhat of a comeback. Stay out of their sandbox.
