20 million Chinese a year can now afford western style automobiles thanks to capitalism whereas 25 years ago no one could. But, almost half the population still lives at subsistence levels on rural subsistence farms.

Should the half still at subsistence be given welfare or should they be encouraged into the get rich Republican capitalist economy??

They should be given subsistence. There are not enough resources in this world to have too many more people live the wasteful consumer lifestyles that Americans have had for the last few decades.

Your anger and the degree of your negativity is startling. It will not serve you well.

I did not answer your "question" because there can be no proper answer to it. That's why you phrased it in that manner. The fact of the matter is that most people (let's say 95%) have little or no desire to control the lives of everyone else. The thing that separates the top 5% of the wealth classes is that they DO have a desire to control others (through accumulation of cash and capital, which is a claim on the labor of other people).

You seem to hold that kind of social pathology in high regard . . . perhaps you, also, have a social pathology. I cannot say, but your words are very confrontational.

We still have some upcoming shortages to worry about. Water, phosphorus, and rubber to name a few. China and India have combined eight times our population or around two billion 400 million people. If half of those people are encouraged to get a "rich republican capitalist economy" as you say, that's still a billion two hundred million people trying to attain our lifestyle and consumer consumption.
If America has only 300 million people and uses up 20% of the planets resources, then the one billion, 200 million Chinese/Indians that have attained the rich Republican capitalist economy would be using about 80% of the planet's resources. Their 80% use and our 20% use = 100%. What about the rest of the of the worlds population?
