Sadly, the USA is no longer going to lead the world. It is all about power, as our politicians have been saddling us with useless Wind and Solar (ironically from china), China has built the Heavy Industry to manufacture a Nuclear Reactor.

That is a huge accomplishment for China, something we can longer do here in the USA, something we gave to China, literally.

China has 28 Nuclear Power plants under construction now.
That is a lot of jobs, especially in the steel industry, its too bad we do not do this kind of work, how many young men and women would love to work in the World's most advanced steel industry. Think of all the ways we could apply our technology.

Plenty of Power and Heavy Industry made Detroit the 6th largest economy in the World. Look at it now.

China is the future.

China produces first AP1000 vessel

The manufacture of the reactor pressure vessel in China for Sanmen 2 has been completed - the first AP1000 vessel to bedomestically produced.

The completed vessel, manufactured by China First Heavy Industries (CFHI) under the supervision of Westinghouse, successfully passed a pressure test on 8 June.

The vessel is destined for use in the second of two AP1000 under construction at the Sanmen site in Zhejiang province, eastern China. Two further AP1000s are under construction at Haiyang in Shandong province.

SNPTC has a major role in the transfer of knowledge and technology from the plant supplier, Westinghouse, through agreements featured in the 2007 deal to build the units at Sanmen and Haiyang. China wants to progressively become self-sufficient in deploying AP1000s and its own derivatives.

What do you mean by "we can [no] longer do here"?
We do not have the Heavy Industry to make large piece of metal. All our replacement parts for reactors are made overseas.

And you are so full of shit. As one who makes their living in a steel mill I know for a fact that we have ample resources for making whatever is needed for nukes.

Didn't you say that no fossil fuel is needed in the production of steel and then posted a link showing the opposite of your contention, proving that even an idiot can do a job and not understand what he is doing.

So where do all our reactor heads come from?

Do we have the industry to machine reactor heads?

Instead of saying we can manufacture the components for a nuclear reactor, why not just link to the factories in the usa where you think we can make nuclear reactors.
