China and Russia have a long tradition of hating each other (on a national, governmental level, of course), and both are real good at holding grudges. They'll be at each other's throats before any cockamamie invasion scheme is ever seriously considered.

Iran will be the last straw. That's the line in the sand. We do anything to Iran and we will be in a direct military confrontation with Russia.
