I work with Chinese companies all the time.. You are falling prey to distorted impressions of how and why that happens.

MOST of those factory workers are DISPLACED by choice so that they fund their families back home. THey work long shifts BY CHOICE so that they can get a vacation or break and GO HOME TO SEE their families. They are 100s of miles from home, the company PROVIDES their temp housing because they HAVE TO -- not because the company wants to inherit all the bad press from their personal or social problems.

It's much like the wonderful conditions at the WPA during the Depression..
Where guys HAD to travel 400 miles from home, camp out in a freaking TENT on a mountain pass in the Wintertime with a 55gal drum fire for heat. How depressed do you think THEY were?

LOTS of USMB posters think that was just peachy keen and that we should being it again.
Think all those suicides and deaths were any less the fault of their employer?

You'd work 7 days a week if it got you back to your sick family member sooner.
Don't criticize til you understand how desparate their situations were BEFORE China modernized...

Sounds like a regular worker's paradise.

You'll still be spouting that uninformed nonsense when THEY have your standard of living and you're the one doing subsistence farming and begging the govt for your next meal.

That is what the left wants now.
