China coal production soars!

Nobody is building wind and solar power farms faster than the Chinese and they`re planning on banning the sale of internal combustion engines by 2040. Their 3 Gorges hydro plant eliminates the burning of 53,000 tons of coal a year but meanwhile they`re making do with the coal that they have. We have an asshole president who wants to cut back on our mpg standards for cars. The Chinese bullet trains run on 6,000 miles of track connecting 200 cities while we still build 4-6 lane highways. They need no lecture from anyone in this country about efforts to curtail emissions, especially a Trump groupie.

lol......s0n.....your side is losing so badly, its not even funny at this point. And they were losing long before Trump ever came upon the scene.

Like most progressives, they bow in front of banners and billboards.

China is increasing its coal production by......ready for this..........50% by 2050 compared to now.:abgg2q.jpg::abgg2q.jpg:. Solar farms.........bullet trains........6 lane highways............yuk, yuk!! Only climate nutters think China is serious about the environment........which is why, nobody is caring a wit about climate action anywhere in the world. They stand in front of banners.......emission targets that fall waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay short of stated objectives. They are a bone for the suckers. When is the last time we have seen any kind of climate change action from congress?:th_smileysw2wqa:. Where is the Paris Treaty right now? When I even say it, my balls hurt from laughing so hard. How much of the grid in the US is powered by solar? 1.3%:spinner:EIA projections from Obama just 24 months ago? By 2040, wind and solar will still account for......ready for this.......well less than 10% of our electricity! EV's? LOL.....Ford sells 10X more trucks last year than all EV sales combined.:springbed:

You`re taking pride in our backwardness? Whatever kid. When the world`s #1 market for cars goes electric we will too whether you like it or not.
Bloomberg - Are you a robot?
Only Syria, Nicaragua and the U.S. have rejected the Paris Treaty. Only an idiot takes pride in this.

Really? China doesn’t need a lecture about how to curtail emissions. Why would you make a statement like that without checking the relevant facts? China emits more than the US and Europe combined, and their emissions are increasing while the US emissions are decreasing, so you are 100% wrong. No surprise.

China's emissions passed those of the U.S. in 2005, and by 2012 had surpassed the combined contribution of both the U.S. and the EU. Should recent trends continue, China will be responsible for the most atmospheric carbon dioxide in less than 20 years.

I know about China`s emissions and I know China has a hell of a lot more people than we do and we`ve had a 80 year head start on China when it comes to curing our environmental ills. When China`s economy was humming they were adding 1,000 cars per day to the few drivable highways that they had which made a bad situation worse therefore, the coming ban on internal combustion engines. Our leader wants to roll back the mpg requirements for American made cars. The Chinese are trying to move forward while we try to move backward.

It's not a lecture you dope... It's a pat on the back. The Chinese are famous for making promises that they don't keep. Are you soft?
There is no way they will stop using coal until it's more expensive than the next choice which will be Nat gas...just another hydrocarbon.

So they didn`t build the world`s most powerful hydro dam for electricity? They didn`t build 6,000 miles of high speed rail to connect 200 cities and they don`t lead the world in wind power electric generation? Those were all communist lies. Got it. Unlike the U.S., they`re trying to move forward. They would probably execute someone like Scott Pruitt.

Well, well.....so much for China's commitment to clean energy. We hear that all the time in here but only from full-on climate crusaders.

China's coal output hits highest in over 3 years as mines start up | Reuters

Clearly, their sources are sucking!!:backpedal:

Sure China is upping renewables....but still opening up 1-2 new mines/ month. To climate crusaders, that's full speed ahead on renewables. Ok :flirtysmile4:
I've spent a couple weeks in China last year to meet my relatives. They have so much pollution you can't even imagine. This is a real problem over there. Many people wear face masks to prevent (or at least they try to prevent...) the ill effects of pollution! :(
I think Chinese government doesn't care too much of pollution (and coal mines don't help to fight pollution...

If you up renewables you must increase your use of coal to manufacture the renewables. Steel, Fiberglass, Copper, Polysilicone, Carbon Fiber all require tons of coal. Thousands of tons of coal. Millions of tons of coal.

To save the world we must destroy the world.

I remember when we would mock China for their backwardness

But they are using their newfound wealth to modernize their infrastructure

We use our wealth to give tax cuts to billionaires
