... against black teachers.

Chicago sued for alleged discrimination against black teachers - Yahoo! News

Underperforming schools closed or "reformed".

Hell these folks went on strike in September.

The federal lawsuit filed on Wednesday and announced on Thursday is the latest battle with the city since teachers staged a week-long strike in September. It alleges that more than half of the tenured teachers fired in the most recent round of school closings and turnarounds were African American.

They're scared. The public school utopia of jobs-for-life and nepotistic hiring is being threatened.

They fought for years to have minority teachers in these schools and now they are canning them.

Sweet..

Anyone standing in line for a job here and a pink slip in your future?

This is just ONE of the MANY reasons US Public Education is sh*t and will NEVER get better.

there goes the theory that black students perform best when they have black teachers

The story says something like half of the black teachers' jobs are at risk and that they only comprise 30% of teachers in the Chicago system. Don't know if I'd say it's a race issue so much as the corrupt schools, administration, and staff as a whole.

The whole institution of public schools is broken. Nepotism is rampant and there's no accountability.

Rahm was no doubt unhappy to have this news published:

Chicago reached “a tragic number” today, according to Police Superintendent Garry McCarthy: Its homicide total for the year hit 500, the highest annual total since 2008.

Blacks as a population can't perform at the same level as whites. Fact. Why even try? Seriosly, trying to charge what is natural isn't possible.

It's unfair to dismiss children of any race, for any reason.

Family and culture are of course important, but as I said schools are a failed and broken system. A self-perpetuating morass of good-buddy politics not for the ultimate benefit of students but for the ultimate careers and retirement of faculty staff and administrators.

What level do YOU perform at, Champ? Are you going to dicktuck and hide from this question like every other one that has been put to you? Do you find it difficult to live with yourself knowing you are a loser and a pathetic, spineless coward?
