Cheney Brought it Home!!

I would have to say my favorite comeback was when Cheney talked about Eddy's little S corp tax dodge........Sweet :mm:

I would have to say my favorite was when Edwards pointed out that Halliburton, with Cheney as CEO, did business with Iran and Libya through subsidiary companies, even though we had sanctions in place on them. What a patriot, supporting the axis of evil. :usa:

Chapter S Corps are not a tax dodge. I was one at one time. It was/is a way for a very small business entity to incorporate without paying double tax.

LOL - look at grandpa Bush then - he made a fortune selling to the Natzi's immeadiately prior to WWII. Amoung other things he sold them a huge supply tetra-ethyl-lead which helped their fighters to kill our bombers when we got into the war.

We were mislead or even lied to about the existance of WMD. I believe that the sheer incompetence of the administration led to the "mistake". Condi said 2 or 3 days ago that she knew there was a debate within the intelligence community about the validity of the evidence, but she didn't bother to find out what it was. In "Plan of Attack", Colin Powell himself has doubts about the evidence. Much of the intelligence came from Chalabi, who many in the CIA at the time did not think was credible. From him, the Bush admin thought wrongly that Iraq had mobile labs and airplanes equipped with biological agents. All of which has proven to be false.
So I take it that all the Democrats, international intelligence agencies, and others who said Iraq had them also lied?

Eighth, the genocide in Dafur is going on without U.S. intervention. Not only do they need humanitarian aid, especially after winter, but troops are needed to keep the peace.
So now the US is wrong for not getting involved? What about the sacred, infallible UN? Why not just leave it up to them?

Iraq had ties to al-Qaeda, much like ties could be traced to the U.S. or any country with an intelligence agency. Iraq did not directly support al-Qaeda, even Bush's Secretaries of Defense and State have said this, yet Cheney will continue saying that there were meetings btw al-Qaeda and Iraq in Italy and Bush before the war said that al-Qaeda was an "ally" of Saddam, along with numerous statements saying that al-Qaeda and Iraq were in some way connected.
How would US "ties" even be remotely similar to Iraq's ties (which did and do exist, BTW)? Why would the US support what al-Qaeda is doing (like Iraq did) when the US is al-Qaeda's biggest enemy?

Sixth, after North Korea kicked the weapons inspector out, we should have been there to stop Kim Jong Ill from obtaining nuclear weapons.
1) How?

2) Kim Jong Il was cheating when Clinton was in office.

Fourth, we waited too long before going after bin Laden. I don't agree with Kerry that "outsourcing" the job of capturing him was wrong, the afghanis know the land much much better than we do. They had the better chance of capturing him, but we waited too long.
Huh? Waited to long? When should they have done it? I didn't think they could have acted much sooner. I thought liberals are always the ones who are critical of rushing to war.

Cheney claimed we would be greeted as liberators, with flowers thrown to us, yet only 2% of Iraqis see the U.S as liberators.
Many liberals said things would be much worse than they are (tens of thousands of US deaths), and some still are when they say that it's another Vietnam when it clearly is not.

Where did you get that 2% number anyway? I know this isn't really the same question, but I know I've read that, according to some polls, most think that they are better off now and they think things are headed in the right direction.

i gotta pin you on this one. i want straightforward answers, not generalizations, no going off on some rabbit trail.

give specifics on what he has done so wrong, and since you think they were so wrong, you MUST have an idea on what SHOULD have been done.

and I MEAN specifics.

“Arrows Of The Night”

"The story of how Ahmad Chalabi bamboozled the U.S. into Iraq is like a great spy novel. Too bad the blood is real."
