Chat Programs

Since Yahoo Messenger will be no more on August 5th, and I chat with a few good friends, I am wondering if any of you know of any good trustworthy programs out there.

Does anyone use Viber? One person is trying to get me to d/l that one.

Anyone know of others??

Oh and i mean text chat. I am not interested in video chat. (thought I know most all do have video chat)

Use Skype. It's main feature is video chat, but you don't have to use it.
