Fascinating discussion on Charlie Rose Show.

"Creepy" comment at 6:55 of video.

Apparently Obama is first President-Elect to give his victory speech alone at a podium.

Really? I had not even given a thought to that? Dare I say wow?

uh, this is news?

David Axelrod and Obama ran a textbook cult of personality, image campaign, much like JFK, Gary Hart, and Bill Clinton - you flip flop in issues intentionally to keep the image pure, run on vapid themes like "fighting corruption in Washington", and always, always have more hair than your opponent

can't fault them, because it usually works

go onto youtube and watch Gary Hart's ads from '84, sound exactly the same as Obama's from '08

Amen to 'vapid themes'. There wasn't enough substance in that campaign to keep a canary alive. If 'Joe the Plumber' can ask a question that sends a campaing reeling to respond it is truly VAPID.
We might wanna test out our candidates a bit more next time BEFORE the rest of the world does.
