So I have been sick the last couple of days and I was binge watching Netflix. I came across a couple movies/doc about Charles Manson.
I couldn't help but notice his philosophies were very close to Karl Marx.
I googled and tried to see if Manson ever mentioned Marx but I couldn't find anything..
Anyways, Manson was pretty much a communist.
They both rebelled against society. They were both against social concepts (him, her, gay, strait, rich, poor). Neither pretty much seemed to be for capitalism and money in general. Just another form of slavery..
To be free = anarchy.
Another thing I want to mention is how Karl MArx has always been considered evil.
1. Because people have been tired of big govt. Americans WERE scared of it because they KNEW what it lead to.. Opposition back in the 50s and 60s raped the term communism, socialism etc and most people don't even know what they mean..
2. Some of the most evil men of the last 100 years have always referenced Marx and his teachings.. They said he was their inspiration, but they evidently also didn't know what communism meant. It doesn't mean genocide and you take over entire countries economies. That would be a genocidal socialist dictator. Marx didn't want nations, money or a government in general. Especially genocide. Same with Manson...

From your post, it sounds like you were sick with brain fever because even middle-schoolers know better than to get their history courses from TV movies.

I'll skip the Manson stuff because his legacy is nonexistent and his ideas nil. Karl Marx is another story altogether. Apparently, neither Netflix nor Nicktoons has run a biopic on Marx because you clearly don't know a thing about the man, his ideas or his legacy.

You have fallen for the biggest sophomore blunder of the all: the idea that Lenin and his successors in the USSR were followers of Marx. I won't worry you with the basic contradictions in the ideas of the two men as I don't think you know enough to understand them. You might do better with the fact that every Marxist, Socialist or Anarchist political party in Europe condemned Lenin and the Bolsheviks for hijacking the name of Karl Marx to add legitimacy to his plans for bloody dictatorship of the proletariat (so-called).

Best wishes for a swift recovery and try some real books instead of the TV for your future education.

lol It was documentaries and videos of HIM talking. A movie is what got me interested.
I clearly stated I couldn't find a relationship between the two; just that they have similar beliefs.
What was I wrong about?

Charlie's main idea was that blacks could be provoked into a race war in which all the white people would be killed, but then the victorious blacks would realize that they were too stupid to run the country and would turn to Charlie and his "family" to do the job for them. He believed this plan was hidden the lyrics of a Beatles song.

Karl Marx did not believe in the racial inferiority of black people. He believed that "democracy is the path to socialism," and he was not a fan of the Fab Four.

There are a few other inconsistencies but this is pretty much the main picture.

well, I didn't even mention race so... that doesn't change anything and you refuted nothing.
Marx didn't believe in anything that would differentiate a human from another(conceptually speaking). At least none that I can remember..

correlation is not causation.

but nice try.

Nice try at what? Did EITHER of you read the OP? I CLEARLY stated I couldn't find any relationship between the 2. Just that they shared a lot of the same beliefs.

Your ignorance has become tedious. Whether you mentioned race or not is beneath consideration; race was central to the Manson "philosophy." As for Marx's understanding of language, culture, race, and individual psychology -- forget about it. You are not prepared to begin basic study of the Hegelian school.

If you wanted to find some point of comparison between these two thinkers -- bearing in mind the the difference between Marx and Manson is the difference between lightning and a lightning bug -- I'd recommend you think about the concept of revolution in both people.

Your hostility combines synergistically with your discourtesy so I shan't be responding to your next post. Bye bye.

Lmao. You a Marxist bro? You are really grasping at straws.
Btw, u started the hostility with post 2 :)
But obviously I won't expect consistency with you.

My grandson tells me that your statement "Lmao" means "laughing my ass off." When you get your ass back on, try the google with "Georg Wilhelm Friedrich Hegel". I am an Hegelian. Let me guess: you are a Mansonite? Another tragic failure of our public school system, I suppose.

Nope

I think Manson has more in common with Jim Jones, both using psychological manipulation of gullible followers to commit murder. Karl Marx was a 19th Century philosopher who didn't understand modern economics. That his writing were used as a pretext for the imposition of one of the world's worst dictatorships should not confer upon him any greater legitimacy or special insight.

Marx corresponded with a Republican President. Manson tried to assassinate one.
