Change The Lock

HillaryCare II gave Wall Street and the insurance industry keys to the public purse. They are not about to return them willingly. They know that Tea Party conservatives repealing HillaryCare II will change the lock making their keys worthless. So all of the double-talk you hear about fixing the good parts of the ACA is an elaborate hustle designed to permanently derail Tea Party efforts to repeal.

Going into 2016 with the call for repeal as the number one issue makes it imperative that the public accept the idea that Tea Party conservatives who oppose the fix must be extremists.

Insurance industry spokespersons and their surrogates also have keys to the propaganda apparatus. Hence, the country is hearing a lot of talk about doing what’s best for the country. Yeah right! Repealing the ACA is best for the country, but you won’t hear them utter the word REPEAL because they know that nobody is going to return the money that was paid out in bribes, or return the money spent on championing a train wreck before and after the ACA became law. All of that money was supposed to come back to the “investors” —— with interest —— after HillaryCare II was fully implemented.

The joke is that neither Democrat nor Republican want to be accused of working for the insurance industry while they are working for the insurance industry. Attempts to delay parts of Hillarycare II until a permanent fix can be worked out are clever schemes hiding the insurance industry’s efforts to kill all talk about repeal.

Crapola like the Upton bill and Senator Landrieu’s plan must be seen as bipartisan efforts. The record shows that bad bipartisanship legislation blames no one on election day, and the media can sell it as responsible legislators doing what is best for the country. They should be reminded that NOT voting for bad laws is always the best way to do what is best for the country.

The way money changes hands has gone far beyond envelops stuffed with cash although bagmen like Harry Reid are still the same. Let’s face it, a bagman can not walk over to the IRS and fill up a briefcase with tax dollars. Here’s how it is done these days:

When Reid was looking for votes it was reported that he pieced-off then-Senator Ben Nelson —— not with cash, but with the Cornhusker Kickback:

Indeed, there was no need to pay for Nelson’s vote. My guess is that Reid simply wanted to keep his bagman skills from going stale. In fact, Ben Nelson came from the National Association of Insurance Commissioners. So there was zero chance he would vote NO on the ACA:

The two-term Nebraska senator has held high-ranking positions at NAIC before, serving as its executive vice president from 1982 to 1985. On Tuesday, he announced his return to the group as CEO.

More to the point, no money changed hands in 2010. Nelson is getting his payoff now and it’s all legal:

Former Sen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb.) on Wednesday revealed he would earn nearly $1 million per year in his new job as chief executive of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC).

The "homecoming" will earn Nelson a base salary of $950,000 for at least two years, The Hill confirmed.

Nelson has also accepted a position with the public affairs firm Agenda, where he will serve as a senior adviser. He has not revealed how much he will earn at that firm.

Finally, before Tea Party conservatives support any candidate in the midterm primaries they better know exactly where the wannabe stands on repealing HillaryCare II. An unequivocal pledge committing to repeal would help. Such an assurance would naturally rule out voting for phoney fixes.

Liz Chaney did not mention repealing HillaryCare II on yesterday’s Fox News Sunday, but she certainly sounded like a candidate conservatives in Wyoming should be looking for:
