    Simple task.

Just name a head of state that has Obama's view on any major issue from *his* nation's point of view.

It's not as easy as it may sound initially.

    Define "conservative"

The word has no definition that makes sense.

I am talking about the present as the past would be way too easy.

And Hitler was a leftist, not a conservative. Had he been conservative he would have restored the Kaiser as promised and he did not.

BTW, name one nationally recognised conservative who has embraced Hitler. You cant because the claim that Republicans admire Hitler is a fucking lie and you know it.

Yeah, it's relative to each culture and each generation of that culture.

1968's hippy is todays conservative stalwart in far too many cases.

But there are some principled conservative sets of ideas, in this country I think GK Chesterton was one of the earliest proponents, following down to Russel Kirk, William F Buckley and others.

But essentially it is 19th century liberalism, supporting individual liberty, fair markets, social morality, cultural tradition, community interests and small government that has a division of powers.

Today's neocons would call it socialist anarchism, lol.

for the life of me I cannot understand why it matters if there are dozens of conservative heads of state. The US has always stood above, and therefore apart from, the rest.

Cripes what is this insistence that we sink to the level of everybody else?

No, it is not a matter of us sinking anywhere.

I am simply wanting to do a reality check here.

I simply cannot find a single head of state today that is more conservative than Obama.

And yet people on the right are in such a tizzy that they think the US will unravel entirely if Obama gets another four years in office.

But if you were able to replace him with another head of state, who would you pick?

For myself, I think Obama has shown some things I personally do not like, but over all, we in the US have been blessed to have *this* much control over the direction our country has gone, and that is a credit to our Founding Fathers who did the best they could do to prevent a European centralization of power from occuring in our nation.

Adolf Hitler was the head of the German National Socialist Party.

    Obama is a Socialist

    Hitler was a Socialist

What part of the word Socialist don't you understand?

In both Hitler's and Obama's versions of Socialism, the individual has no rights. No one has any rights unless bequeathed by an Omnipotent State.

"The rights of man come from the hand of God and not from the benevolence of the State"
    JFK

Hitler was right wing. He was extremely conservative. He was a very religious Roman Catholic who sought and got..the approval of the Catholic Pope Pius. He mission was one people, one race, one religion and one nation. He wanted the "hinterlands" and tradition to be state doctrine. There's nothing more conservative then that.
