Celebrating Memorial Day with MSNBC

GE/NBC is a joke. But i will give this douche some credit. At least he was being honest. Most of the Socialists/Progressives on this Board feel the same way about our Soldiers. They just lie and pretend to respect our Soldiers when it's politically convenient to do so. This asshole truly does represent them well.

Heroes generally don't talk about themselves much, don't take personal credit for what they usually see as a group effort, and don't brag about their accomplishments. It is like pulling teeth to get our WWII, Korean, and Vietnam vet friends and family members to talk about their personal experience at all.

Compare that with some politicians who pepper almost every announcement of some initiative or accomplishment with I - I - I. . . .
...and edit bios of former Presidents with their own accomplishments.

Usually it's not a very fun time in their lives.

No, it wasn't much fun waking up in the morning and wondering if this would be the day that you die. And knowing that was a very real possibility. Sometimes a probability. It wasn't fun being away from friends and family for years at a time. None of them enjoyed the killing that is a necessary consequence of war. Many endured unbelievably brutal conditions and many still bear the physical and/or emotional scars. There were those who survived starvation conditions and torture as prisoners of war. There are those who we decorate their graves on Memorial Day. And those who never came home at all.

And yet almost every one can find some positives to relate. The soldiers do become bands of brothers sharing an experience that they will never forget. The good times, the funny things, and the frustrations of the military way they will and do talk about if encouraged. But they aren't so eager to talk about the war.

Which is what makes Hayes' comments so ignorant.

I'm a little upset to see these young kids being fooled into believing we are currently in Afghanistan doing some good.

That ended the day Obama took office.

Since then he's been looking for a viable exit that won't hurt him in the polls. Meanwhile our kids are suffering under his restrictive ROEs and he's busy signing away our most effective military options to placate our enemies.

Is there a draft?

How long should we stay in Afghanistan?

No....there is not a draft.

And we should have been out of Afghanistan years ago.

Democrats already fighting War on Women and Christians they just started a War on our Military

Well it IS Memorial Day.

You can always tell. The President dedicates several whole HOURS to the "show."

9:15AM THE PRESIDENT and THE FIRST LADY host a breakfast in honor of Gold Star Families
State Dining Room

11:00AM THE PRESIDENT lays a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier; THE FIRST LADY also attends
Arlington National Cemetery

11:20AM THE PRESIDENT delivers remarks; THE FIRST LADY also attends
Arlington National Cemetery

1:50PM THE PRESIDENT delivers remarks: THE VICE PRESIDENT, THE FIRST LADY and DR. BIDEN attend
The Vietnam War Memorial, National Mall

9:15AM until almost 2:00 pm. Whew. HE must be planning on being exhausted.

Didn't he intentionally leave Washington to avoid all of this a few years ago?

Didn't Reagan and Bush?

How many years ago? Since you say we stopped doing good in Jan. 2009.

No one is forcing people to join the military. Hayes is saying he respects the military, but does the overuse of the word hero promote war.

Did Reagan and Bush leave because of racism?

Obama left in on the request of black leaders because of a Confederate Memorial that existed at Arlington.

Strange......many of the stories of this have been scrubbed from the internet.

No. It doesn't.

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself.

Yes. I have never criticized President Obama for not attending the ceremonies at Arlington on Memorial Day. Most Presidents have assigned that duty to others when they were away from Washington that weekend. Ironically I believe in my lifetime, the only President who did not miss a single ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknowns during his tenure in office was the draft dodger, Bill Clinton. President Clinton rarely turned down an opportunity for a favorable photo op even if he had to manufacture one. :)

But it is also well documented that both Bill and Hillary did disrespect the military in other ways, while the same would not be said of Ronald Reagan or George H.W. Bush or George W. Bush. To this day, the younger Bush attends welcome home ceremonies at the airport for returning servicemen and make regular visits to military hospitals to visit wounded soldiers as well as supporting wounded warriors organizations.

Does anybody think Barack Obama will feel any empathy for or interest in the military once he is out of office? He might fool me. But I'm not holding my breath.

The turd Hayes, sister of Maddow, would be better off not mentioning military personnel, hero or otherwise.

More madness from GE/NBC. Maddcow gets caught lying again. This is very awkward and embarrassing. But also very funny.

Here's another GE/NBC Maddcow classic. She lies, admits lying, but then lies some more. All in like 2 Minutes. lol!...

Can they mention the drunks, spouse abusers, child molesters, murderers, drug addicts, thieves in the military?

Let me guess, confederate sources still remain on the internet. :eusa_eh:

I bet this douche is very comfortable calling Mao Tse Tung,Pol Pot,Joseph Stalin,Hugo Chavez, or Fidel Castro 'Heroes.' This is what GE/NBC has become. I'm shocked anyone still watches.

The Democratic Party's new 'War on Soldiers.' We'll see how well that plays in November. I'm guessing not too well.
