First you gotta scare the sheep then you can force any Boondoggle Legislation down their throats. Remember when Hopey Changey announced that if he didn't get that $Trillion for his Stimulus that all our bridges were going to collapse the next day? This administration will create a massive Flu Scare in the Fall in an attempt to force their Socialist Health Care Boondoggle on us. It will probably sound something like this..."If only these Evil Republicans would pass our Health Care Bill,we would then have enough Flu Vaccines for the poor children." It will go something like that. Don't kid yourself into thinking that our Government isn't capable of such Evil.
This is ridiculous. Ideology is interfering with common sense. Down here we are coming into spring, moving out of our seasonal flu season. The vaccine is being prepared and hopefully it will be ready soon. We're watching next flu season, our winter, because we're worried that H1N1 will mutate. And viruses mutate very easily. We're also concerned that H1N1 will cross with H5N1 to create a far more dangerous virus than H1N1 is already.
Far from accusing the administration of exaggeration I'd be watching for minimisation. Governments are inclined to lie to us, to give us, "it will be fine", message just to keep us calm. I prefer to go to WHO to keep an eye on this virus.
To think that the administration would deliberately whip up fears to help the legislation go through is akin to a major conspiracy theory. You have the CDC, it's an excellent organisation, world class, I'd be listening closely to them and doing so without filtering the information through an ideological funnel.
I'm sure there will be some deaths from the swine flu this fall. There's always deaths from the flu every year and this is no different. However, nobody can predict just how many will die from the flu. Any number offered up is just a guess. So, as usual, the politicians put their spin on it to try and pass whatever agenda they are trying to pass. Sad way of doing business, huh?
