Just like Dick Armey predicted, in an effort to scare up support for his ObamaCare Pogrom, the White House estimated that 90,000 people will die in the US this fall from Swine Flu. If ObamaCare passes that number will likely double as the untermenschen (elderly, right wing extremists aka: veterans, etc) are denied treatment

In response, the CDC is telling Obama to shut his lying fucking mouth.

"Everything we've seen in the U.S. and everything we've seen around the world suggests we won't see that kind of number if the virus doesn't change," said Dr. Thomas Frieden, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

Vastly underestimating the deficit and overestimating the death toll from Swine Flu, just two of the many benefits the American people get for electing a Marxist Community Organizer with no previous experience.

I'm sure there will be some deaths from the swine flu this fall. There's always deaths from the flu every year and this is no different. However, nobody can predict just how many will die from the flu. Any number offered up is just a guess. So, as usual, the politicians put their spin on it to try and pass whatever agenda they are trying to pass. Sad way of doing business, huh?

The further along we get with Obama, the better it is for conservatives.

This deuche is going to set liberalism back 20 years. And that's with the media in his pocket. If they ever turn on him,....

It would be racist for them to turn on him

Frank, if you've read any of my posts you'll know I'm NOT an Obama fan but to be fair where is the rest of the story? I ask based on the "if" part of the italicized sentence above.

If the virus mutates with an airborne strain of Ebola the death toll could be in the billions, so why is Obama so vastly underestimating this pandemic/epidemic Slate Cleaner?

Basically I want to read the story so I'm satisfied that you are not reading in your own personal bias, I think that's a reasonable request.

Yes Mr. Armey definitely nailed this one. This administration is currently planning a massive Flu Scare campaign in the Fall. Their scare will likely coincide with the voting on his Socialist Health Care Boondoggle. Expect their fear mongering campaign to kick into high gear sometime at the end of September early October. I really don't think this is just loony Conspiracy Theory stuff. I now truly believe that the Democrats will do anything to force their Socialist agenda on us. However their Flu Scare could backfire on them in the end. It certainly wont be good for the economy. It's very sad when you realize that our Government is capable of such Evil but it is what it is i guess. :(

What is it you're asking me for? Do you want me to reread the CDC quote to you?

No, a link to the entire article so I can read it in context.

Obama Advisers: Swine Flu Could Infect Nearly Half the U.S. Population
Half the population could be infected by the pandemic

President Obama's science advisers warned Monday that swine flu could infect nearly half the U.S. population this fall and winter and cause up to 90,000 deaths, mostly in kids and young adults. The estimate is double the deaths normally associated with the seasonal flu.

The report by the President's Council of Advisors on Science and Technology laid out a "plausible scenario" where the H1N1 virus could infect 60 million to 120 million people. As many as 1.8 million people could be admitted to hospitals with up to 300,000 of them requiring treatment in intensive care units, the council found.

The number of people hospitalized could put a strain on the U.S. healthcare system because those patients could completely fill intensive care beds at the peak of the flu season. The report estimates that the epidemic will peak on October 15, the exact date U.S. health officials are expected to deliver a vaccine.

"This is going to be fairly serious," said Harold E. Varmus of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York, cochair of the 21-member council. "It's going to stress every aspect of our health system."

Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius called the H1N1 virus "unusual" because it typically infects children and young adults. "This isn't the flu that we're used to," Sebelius said. "The 2009 H1N1 virus will cause a more serious threat this fall."

The council recommended that manufacturers speed up the preparation of the flu vaccine so it can be distributed to high-risk patients such as pregnant women by mid-September. Originally, the government expected 120 million doses to be available on October 15, but U.S. health officials now estimates there will only be 45 million available, with 20 million more each week through December.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that parents get their family vaccinated once the shot is available.

CDC leery of estimates about swine flu's toll
By LAURAN NEERGAARD, AP

WASHINGTON — Government health officials are urging people not to panic over estimates of 90,000 people dying from swine flu this fall. "Everything we've seen in the U.S. and everything we've seen around the world suggests we won't see that kind of number if the virus doesn't change," said Dr. Thomas Frieden, head of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

He made the comment in a C-SPAN interview taped Wednesday.

While the swine flu seems quite easy to catch, it so far hasn't been more deadly than the flu strains seen every fall and winter — many people have only mild illness. And close genetic tracking of the new virus as it circled the globe over the last five months so far has shown no sign that it's mutating to become more virulent.

Still, the CDC has been preparing for a worst-case flu season as a precaution — in July working from an estimate slightly more grim than one that made headlines this week — to make sure that if the virus suddenly worsened or vaccination plans fell through, health authorities would know how to react.

On Monday the White House released a report from a group of presidential advisers that included a scenario where anywhere from 30 percent to half of the population could catch what doctors call the "2009 H1N1" flu, and death possibilities ranged from 30,000 to 90,000. In a regular flu season, up to 20 percent of the population is infected and 36,000 die.

"We don't think that's the most likely scenario," CDC flu specialist Dr. Anne Schuchat said of the presidential advisers' high-end tally.

What's really expected this year? CDC won't speculate, finding a numbers game pointless as it tries to balance getting a largely complacent public to listen to its flu instructions without hyping the threat.

Along with how the virus itself continues to act, the ultimate toll depends on such things as vaccinations beginning as planned — currently set for mid-October — and whether the people who need them most get them. CDC also is working to help hospitals keep the not-so-sick from crowding emergency rooms and to properly target anti-flu drugs to the most vulnerable.

What is likely: A busy flu season that starts earlier than usual, Schuchat told The Associated Press. This new H1N1 strain never went away over the summer, infecting children at summer camps in particular. Already clusters of illnesses are being reported at some schools and colleges around the country.

Here's a link to any and all information regarding the flu season, and particularly the vaccine availablility. You can scroll down to this paragraph for links to the articles you are referring to. However, none of them uses the terms "CDC is telling Obama to shut his lying fucking mouth."

I'm familiar with the above statement. I want to read the complete CDC article that you quoted from. What's so hard to understand about that? Why won't you provide a link?

Why is Obama lying? Is it to scare people into supporting ObamaCare Pogrom so only the elderly and veterans are killed by swine flu?
