Ultrasounds don't probe. They do require physical exams prior to an abortion. It's important to gauge the woman's health as well as determine an accurate age of the fetus so doctors can be sure the abortion is being done within a certain time frame and that there are no problems. If doctors aren't going to adequately assess a woman's heath and discover any risk factors, the woman may as well go back to the coat hanger in the back alley. Or she can go to a doctor and do things right- for her own well being.
