With all of the debate over, to cover or not to cover, birth control pills and abortion...The idea being you should only have sex for procreation.

I would lay good money they cover Viagra. :eusa_whistle:

The right wing as always supported Viagra for men. They call a lack of boner a "medical condition". Birth control, they call a "lifestyle choice". The right is run by the men.

As long as they're not using it to masturbate with...I'm so going to hell.

My insurance for the longest time did not cover birth control pills... but did cover abortion and viagra from the time it hit the market.

I asked about that little piece of bullshit and the answer i got was that men needed sex to stay healthy. :wtf:

So, just for fun, who is the 'left' run by?

Fun? The left is a coalition. Republicans are 90% white and mostly Christian. The left is everyone else. Not something that can be disputed. Easily proven.

Satan of course.

A quarter of Republicans believe Obama is the "anti-Christ". And they call themselves "educated".

No. The Obamanation is merely doing the bidding of Satan in America. The Abomination that causes Desolation is when the Anti-Christ sits on the throne of Israel and declares himself to be God in the middle of the tribulation and begins the 3 1/2 year Great Tribulation.

Yes. I do call myself educated and I call you a fool for Fear of the Lord is the beginning of WISDOM.

Sorry retardean, this thread is about Catholics, not "the right". A majority of Catholics voted for Obama in 2008. You're so stupid that you see everything along political party lines, even religion. Your mother dropped you on the head one too many times. :cuckoo:....

Or.. perhaps it's because viagra is a drug that has nothing to do with birth control.

If a guy can't get it up, how can he make more little Catholics?

Why the hell do some people keep trying to compare Viagra to birth control pills? Really? You really think a woman isn't physically capable of having sex unless she has a birth control pill first? Because unless that is true, there is no comparison with Viagra. Viagra is a drug that treats erectile dysfunction -a known medical condition that results in the impaired body function of a man and while the risk of those conditions causing ED rises with age, men in their 20s can suffer from it as well. And that is discussing the very real physical causes of it, not the psychological ones which can occur separately or in conjunction with physical causes. Viagra restores a normal body function that isn't working right. All sorts of physical illnesses like diabetes, central nervous system disorders, high blood pressure, digestive and hormonal disorders and the medications used to treat those illnesses can impair the ability to be able to maintain an erection and have a normal sex life. There are dozens of medical diseases and conditions that can cause ED and at least as many medications, many of which are necessary to maintain LIFE so no option to stop them. I know a lot of women in particular like to pretend the inability of a man to have an erection is a normal part of aging and therefore shouldn't be treated -but it isn't a normal part of aging any more than getting cancer is a normal part of aging and therefore shouldn't be treated either. As we get older more and more things go wrong with our bodies that can impair all sorts of previously normal body functions -but that doesn't mean we shouldn't have them treated when treatment exists for it! Pretty cold to tell people regardless of how many decades of life expectancy they may have to kill their sex life good-bye for the rest of their lives.

Birth control pills don't have anything to do with restoring a previous impaired function -if anything, it is a medication that deliberately impairs the normal menstrual cycle and makes it abnormal.

The proper drugs to compare to Viagra would be the medications used to treat vaginal atrophy which can occur due to the drop in hormones after menopause. The tissue becomes thin and tears easily, making intercourse painful and sometimes impossible. And like a man suffering from ED, impairs the ability to have a normal sex life. Now who is going to tell women, "Tough shit -kiss your sex life good-bye for the rest of YOUR life now because you are being denied the medications to treat that."? No one is going to tell a woman that -but THOSE are the drugs that are comparable to Viagra. And those ARE covered by insurance as is ANY medication (even if only in generic) intended to try and restore impaired body functions back to normal or as near normal as possible. Birth control pills are sometimes used to try and treat specific medical conditions and when those conditions exist, insurance will cover birth control pills until that condition resolves. But otherwise, birth control pills are another option to consider in someone's personal preference about how they want to have sex -protected or unprotected and if protected, what method of protection they want to use. Just because they want to pick birth control pills instead of another method, doesn't suddenly shift the burden to ME to provide it or foot the bill for it! That's like saying if I choose to buy cheap plastic flipflops, I have to pay for them -but if I decide I want a pair of Bruno Magli's, taxpayers or my employer have to cough it up for me! After all, protection for my feet is necessary -getting pregnant when not ready for it is just inconvenient -but walking around barefoot can cause permanent injury to my feet! HAHA -that means shoes must be a RIGHT! And as a part of my new found right, is the right to demand someone else foot the bill for my shoes all year long!

When it comes to contraceptives, the method someone PREFERS doesn't suddenly shift the burden on to ME to provide it! This really isn't about birth control pills. It is about government under Obama deciding it can force others to foot the bill for desired goods and services as long as they call them a "right" first. What leftwingers mean by calling it a "right" is claiming a "right" to use the power of government to force others to produce or pay for it instead of the person who wants it. It is part of an ongoing agenda to pervert our pure rights so people come to believe our rights come from government as GOVERNMENT defines those rights -instead of the truth. Our rights are those acts we have declared are protected FROM government -our real rights are intended to protect us, not enrich us. As part of the leftwing agenda, it is necessary to bastardize the definition of rights so that people believe their rights are tangible goods and services they desire in order to enrich or benefit themselves. This allows government to use the claim it is necessary to uphold these "rights" of some (women, for example) by forcing others against their will to produce or provide those goods and services. The left believes people are government owned property -for real, they really do. Therefore it is the proper use of government to force people to do whatever government orders them to do. Even if doing so means violating their real rights -you know, the ones intended to protect us from government.

How about we bottom line it..

men... Viagra.... sex...woohoo!
Women..birth control...sex... woohoo!

How about we bottom line it..

men... Viagra.... sex...woohoo!
Women..birth control...sex... woohoo!

How about because that isn't the bottom line. Women don't need birth control to enjoy sex. Men need viagra to be able to have sex. Birth control and viagra are not remotely analogous.

Having sex is not a right that needs to be paid for by someone else. Insurance should not cover either Viagra or birth control unless it is medically necessary for other reasons.

What does one have to do with the other? If I have a hard on there are a myriad of ways a woman and I can have safe healthy sex , if I don't have a hard on, well there are still ways to enjoy sex, but not nearly as much so.

You have no legitimate gripe here. Now , if your insurance carriers is covering condoms and vasectomy but not IUDs or tubals THEN you would have a complaint.

I apologize for pointing out that you are simply looking for sexism where it doesn't exist.

Oh, as for the Catholic Church, maybe they should focus on worrying more about catching priests who are fucking little boys and less on whether jack is getting jill pregnant every time he fucks her.

"Lay good money", is that a pun? Nobody really cares if Catholic women use birth control or if they don't and nobody but an aging prostitute would be concerned if Catholic men took Viagra. The point is that the Catholic Church should not be forced to fund birth control any more than Muslems should be forced to feed pork.

and they won't be. THey will merely be required to offer health insurance which is required to pay for birth control IF a person chooses to avail themselves of it.

Now, of course the whole issue of Obamacare is bullshit, BUT the church affiliated hospitals deserve no exemption here.
