Castro agrees with the American people

People actually quote Casto and give credence to what he has to say? Hahahahahaha, what a pathetic group of idiots. I have a friend who was in love with socialism, spent two years in Cuba volunteering his services as a teacher, returned to the USA, and now understands the true meaning of socialism, and is so far to the right he would make your head spin. In fact when the enlightened one rammed through his national health care bill he packed it in and headed to Canada.

I'm pretty sure Canada is even more socialist that the US. That was probably not smart on his part.

Actually we have been heading seriously in the Conservative direction for some time now, finally have a majority conservative government and we've got our economy just rolling. Lowest debt in the G8 last I read and Prime Minister Harper just gave the keynote speech at Davos.

I'm waiting to get a full transcript but what clips I caught he was chiding other nations who fell into the trap of spending on entitlements instead of inspiring job creation and consequently ending up trillions upon trillions in debt.

ETA: we also have a distinct advantage that the Prime Minister has a Masters in Economics.

Oh and for all the libs who love Castro I found another just for you...:eusa_angel:

Fidel Castro calls Obama UN speech 'gibberish'
Former Cuban leader Fidel Castro and Venezuelan television journalist Mario Silva (left) talk during an interview in Havana on 4 September 2011 - picture released by CubaDebate Fidel Castro gave an interview to Venezuelan television in early September

Cuba's ex-leader Fidel Castro says US President Barack Obama's recent address to the UN was "gibberish" and an attempt to justify the "unjustifiable".

In his first published article since July, Mr Castro also condemned the air raids by the US and its Nato allies on Libya as "a monstrous crime".

Fidel Castro dislikes the US President? Is that supposed to be shocking? Obviously, he despised Kennedy. Hum.....Kennedy was most definitely Democratic.

And we've done nothing that I'm aware of to improve relations with Cuba. Contrary to popular belief; just because someone isn't a warmonger, and doesn't agree with a multi-millionaire paying 15 percent taxes when many of the rest of us pay 28-35%, roughly. ( will have to reference the tax brackets.)

What I find astounding, is that so many people think that this is okay. Why?

Tiny, you're a smart woman, but I'm not sure whom you're trying to reach with this post. Just because someone doesn't agree with Gingrich or Romney, doesn't mean that they're socialist/communist. This really gets old. Perhaps more of us should name call, and call all of you fascists. Is that accurate? Are you fascist. Corporatist, plutocratic, theocratic?

lol, no I'm just having fun poking the OP in the eye because I don't think any US President should give a hoot what old Castro says in an OP ED.

I guess you didn't see all my others. Just tongue in cheek.

One day I'd like to seriously tackle a good discussion over Cuba and the seemingly never ending embargo. Especially in this day and age when China is a trading partner. I'd like to try to make some sense of it.

But in this thread, I've just been having some fun.:eusa_angel:

Castro: GOP primary a 'competition of idiocy and ignorance'

Castro said he always assumed the candidates would try to outdo each other on the issue of Cuba, but that he was nonetheless appalled by the level of debate.
"The selection of a Republican candidate for the presidency of this globalized and expansive empire is — and I mean this seriously — the greatest competition of idiocy and ignorance that has ever been," said the retired Cuban leader, who has dueled with 11 U.S. administrations since his 1959 revolution.

Castro and Chavez are usually in lockstep with Modern Democrats
