Actually Germany is the best possible example of Socialism vs Capitalism one could find. In 40 years, Germany went from a beaten bombed out hell hole, to a half prosperous, half backward shit hole that people braved machine guns, brick walls and barbed wire to escape, to one of the most prosperous countries in Europe.
Look what Socialism did to East Germany in a few short years and how quickly it recovered once Germany was reunited.
