Carly Fiorina says California drought not caused by Climate Change, but by liberals.

Watching her with Chuck Todd on Meet the Press she made that ridiculous claim. Of course Chuck looked incredulous but didn't argue.

Right wingers always amaze me on how bold they are in their certainty.

California has REFUSED to drill for more water and they have REFUSED to invest in more treatment plants. The also have REFUSED to build DE-salting plants to convert water.

They have the right to refuse so their problem is their own making.

Liberals would like nothing better to wipe out half the human population of CA, as long as they can blame it on "Climate Change"

Let me amplify Sunni Man here.. Carly is correct.. It is definitely not CC because temperatures only matter to precipt in Cali during the Winter months. Doesn't mean crap the rest of the year because 0.5deg aint gonna cause significant additional evaporation from reservoirs. AND -- according to GW folklore -- WARMER WINTERS are supposed to bring MORE precip and moisture. (as well as every other bet that can be hedged)..

And it IS a policy problem. Because Cali is distracted by High speed trains to nowhere and sanctuary policies and building their own non-productive stem cell factories.. And they TRASH any water projects and stop them in their tracks. In fact, about 10 years ago -- they were talking seriously about taking down Hetch Hetchy dam which is the principle water source for the San Fran area..

They've CLOSED desalinization plants, idled perfectly good nuclear power and sold off Cali owned power gen assets to outsiders. And then they GRIPE about being a victim of "out of state" resource suppliers..

I seriously don't wanna hear it. That's why FlaCal became FlaCalTenn..

none of which CAUSES a drought

Neither does a coal burning power plant.
Scientists would disagree. But what has a scientists ever done for you?

Which scientists think coal burning caused the drought in California?

Scientists say one thing. Republicans say another. Which ones do I believe? The ones who collect data and study. Not the ignorant who believe education is for snobs.

Does burning coal release co2? Asks yourself this question!

It's no surprise that a failed executive is a poor problem solver.

Hansen et al. 1981

Hansen, J., D. Johnson, A. Lacis, S. Lebedeff, P. Lee, D. Rind, and G. Russell, 1981: Climate impact of increasing atmospheric carbon dioxide. Science, 213, 957-966, doi:10.1126/science.213.4511.957.

The global temperature rose 0.2°C between the middle 1960s and 1980, yielding a warming of 0.4°C in the past century. This temperature increase is consistent with the calculated effect due to measured increases of atmospheric carbon dioxide. Variations of volcanic aerosols and possibly solar luminosity appear to be primary causes of observed fluctuations about the mean trend of increasing temperature. It is shown that the anthropogenic carbon dioxide warming should emerge from the noise level of natural climate variability by the end of the century, and there is a high probability of warming in the 1980s. Potential effects on climate in the 21st century include the creation of drought-prone regions in North America and central Asia as part of a shifting of climatic zones, erosion of the West Antarctic ice sheet with a consequent worldwide rise in sea level, and opening of the fabled Northwest Passage.

Yes, the effects of CO2 increase the intensity of droughts in drought prone areas. Simply witness what is going on in California and the rest of the West at present. The fires in Oregon and Washington, about 1000 square miles burned at present, and the fires are still growing. California is still in drought, hopefully the El Nino will bring some moisture.
