I wish for the healthcare system before Obamacare totally fucked it up.
I paid premiums, then went to the doctor for free. Now with Obamacare, we pay premiums AND a $10,000 deductible.
So WTF am I paying premiums for? Its extortion.
The sooner the USSC kills Obamacare the better. You want healthcare, work for it and pay the premiums.

Bingo you put your finger right on one of the key frauds of the ACA. Deductibles have gotten so high that there's really no difference to having no insurance for many Americans. How many people can come up with $10 thousand for treating an illness? From what I've read, the majority of Americans cannot. BUT HEY Thanks for that $2500 dollar a year SAVINGS Obama!

Without any protections for preexisting conditions, millions of Americans won't be able to buy insurance and millions of them will die.

Just saying buy insurance isn't going to cut it anymore. Not when insurance companies are allowed to discriminate against anyone who has a preexisting condition.

Your simplistic attitude will kill millions of Americans.

I've had serious preexisting conditions since the age of 25, and until Commie Care, I was covered the entire time.

Every one stuck there finger in the ACA, both Democrat & Republican, they spent a year messing with it. what we got was a start on a plan that needed a ton of improvement. instead of working together to make some thing that worked the Republicans did everything possible to destroy it. including the promise of a better plan that never arrived. there is plenty of blame to toss around, as usual people pick sides instead of solutions.

If you're going to place blame on somebody, place it on who started the problem.

The Republicans did whatever they could to water down the plan and take as much government regulation out of it as they could. Regardless, when it came to a final vote, not one Republican voted for it and every Democrat did.

So my family is supposed to pay premiums AND a $10,000 deductible so insurance companies can subsidize those with pre-existing conditions? How about we all pay our own way? I don't know what the answer is. Maybe genetic testing to minimize those with pre-existing conditions?
I do know that I would do something about the price of drugs, such as insulin or epi-pens. The drug companies either cut costs or those drugs get nationalized, so the drugs are sold "at cost".

So millions of Americans are supposed to die because you want cheap premiums?

Pay our own way? Tell that to my oncologist. Tell that to the lab that takes huge vials of my blood and fills a basket with them to test. Tell that to the drug companies that make chemo.

Do you have any idea how expensive cancer is? Or heart disease? Or one of many other diseases that humans get? I've paid premiums, copayments and deductibles for decades. Since the late 1970s. 40 years. I didn't use my insurance for decades but I paid. I paid for others to have the health care they needed being told that when time came for me to use insurance it would be there. I paid through employer provided insurance. No one gave me a penny. I've never taken anything beyond an IRS refund from the government. I've always paid my way.

I'm not the only one.

So when you get sick and need insurance to help you with the bills, do you want someone to tell you to "pay your own way"? Or are you going to quickly say I did pay my own way for decades. I paid my dues. Now it's time for me to use that I've been paying for, for nearly 40 years.

Or should you be told by your insurance company that they are kicking you off your policy because you got sick and now are preexisting condition? Or that you got sick and reached the cap on your insurance and you're on your own?

I'm 59 years old. I started working in 1974. At 14 years old. I've been paying into both the private and public system since then. In medicaid, taxes and insurance through employer.

I was successful in my career so that I was able to retire at 54. I've been paying over 700 dollars a month for premiums, plus my deductible and copayments since I retired. Now you want to take my insurance from me so that you can have cheap premiums.

For your information taking insurance from me will kill me. Just so you can have cheap premiums.

No decent person would accept that and try to excuse that. Are you a decent person?

Some day you will be preexisting. Do you want to be treated the same way you want to treat me? Should society just tell you to die because others believe they have the right to kill you so they can have cheap premiums?

Funniest part when I looked into MN Sure I got a letter saying I qualified for a premium subsidy.

When I shopped online on the pathetic choice of 3 companies whose plans were exactly the same,(several insurance companies dropped out) that amount was exactly $0.00. Based on my gross income only. Premiums were 25% of my net income. Affordability and premium subsidies was a lie constantly repeated on endless ads put out by the state to enroll people into a system no one could afford or would sign up for.
How much did all that advertising cost? MN alone also spent millions on a crappy failing website that constantly crashed.
Porn sites are better designed than the failed state system.

The thing is the left doesn't believe our stories. The same thing with me, it was about 25% of my net pay.

Unless you are doing very well financially, who can maintain a livable lifestyle with 25% less money to work with? I mean, if 25% of my pay was disposable income, don't they think I would have been making additional payments on my mortgage? My automobile? My credit cards? My second mortgage?

If I had to sacrifice that amount of money to buy Commie Care insurance, I wouldn't be able to afford my insulin and heart medications. So I'd have insurance I couldn't really use unless I was hit by a bus, but die from not being able to afford life sustaining prescriptions.

There was nothing wrong with healthcare before we started pretending there was.
In order to 'fix the problem' that didn't exist, you had to destroy what had been working fine for the majority of Americans for decades.
