When we speak of WW2, a fascinating subject for me, are the captured aircraft. I share with you the link below, which features an interesting collection of photographs about them. Many of them are new to me and I had never seen with these marks. I hope you enjoy.

The ignorant racist attitude of the FDR administration concluded that the Japanese would never be able to construct a viable warplane and that was the verdict that passed for US "intelligence" in the late 30's. When the Japanese Zero proved to be a fast and maneuverable fighter the U.S. industry finally struggled to compete. U.S. "intelligence" agencies were so far behind the German industrial potential that the war was over by the time the FDR/Truman administration contemplated the value of jet propulsion.
