Capitalism VS. Socialism: Who are the Greedy ones?

Someone might point out that making money is not necessarily synonymous with earning/deserving it. The person could note that there is a disproportionate reward to a certain élite compared to the collective contribution. And such an individual might say all this while not being a 'socialist'.

Correct. Someone may break into your home and take things that don't belong to them. That's called stealing, and that person surely doesn't deserve what he took from you.

Now lets say that thief decided to "share" what he stole from you to some of your less-fortunate neighbors.

Does that make it any less of a theft, and him any less of a thief?

There are many kinds of thieves. There are thieves who bribe our Congress to legislatively tilt the field in their favor, with the result of a massive redistribution of wealth from the pockets of the common man upward and into the hands of a select few.

These thieves rob you in broad daylight and get to keep your goods even when they are caught, because they have police protection.

This is why the idea that we should make someone who lives in a bigger house than you pay more taxes is so stupid. That is not where the problem lies.

.

True greed to me is wanting to take from the fruits of others.

Like when the tax scheme taxes the middle class at a higher rate than the rich in order to redistribute the middle class wealth to the rich.

Facts from the IRS: From 2001 to 2007 the people with the highest income got the biggest percentage cuts in their actual tax payments. The middle class had to subsidize the rich even more than before. It is time to end the tax subsidy to the rich. The middle class is tired of carrying your fat ass.

Capitalist make money by providing goods and services people want or need. If they don't do that. They dont get money. While from a spiritual aspect, i would encourage people not to be greedy, but if their greed greats goods and services for others, why is that bad?

What you're referring to isn't really greed honestly.

It only because greed when the capitalist begins to take more and more and more themselves to the point where they won't create goods and services for others.

That is true greed.

True greed to me is wanting to take from the fruits of others.

Which is precisely the problem with Socialism.

No. It actually makes him worse than a thief who just steals for the benefit of himself.

The worst people are those who try to cloak an evil act with a veneer of an "Altruistic" Motive.

And much of the derivatives fraud which has occurred and is still occurring.

Tax expenditures are the biggest regressive ripoff. You are taxed for not buying a house. If you do buy a house, the bigger the house you buy, the bigger the benefit you get. You are even taxed for not being married, and you are taxed for being gay! But if you are straight and married, you get cash and prizes for being so special.

Over a trillion dollars of these kinds of gifts are handed out by Santa each year.

That is some serious greed.

Since we're never going to agree on this issue, because you'll argue the rich paid a lower effective tax rate, and we'll counter that by saying the rich paid the lions share of taxes regardless, lets just agree that everyone should pay the same, flat tax rate.

That's only fair, IMO.

Only a moonbat doesn't get that if one person earns $50,000 and does not own a house, he has to pay more taxes than the guy who earns $50,000 and owns a house.

The non-home owner is subsidizing the house owner.

That is some serious greed.

It's greed to have the self-discipline to forgo immediate consumption in order to purchase a house?

Thanks for clearing that up.

Personally, I'd prefer to see a flat tax rate for everyone (in the rang of 10-15%) on all income and to get rid of all personal deductions.

If it is made honestly, then it is both earned and deserved. Not earning/deserving it would be sitting on your ass doing nothing all day while collecting checks drawn from your neighbor's paycheck that he actually worked for.

Crony Capitalism is an Oxymoron. It certainly is Cronyism, but it has absolutely nothing to do with Capitalism.

That's what a personal deduction is, fool! It's a tax expenditure.

Tax expenditures are gifts for the greedy at the expense of everyone else who does not receive the gift, which is exactly why I have never heard of any libertarian economist who is not against the mortgage interest deduction and every other kind of tax expenditure.

For purposes of illustration, if the top two percent earn 75% of all income and yet pay only 53% of income taxes, they are not paying the lion's share of income tax. They should be paying at least 75% of income taxes.

Otherwise they are stealing from others.

The Friedmanite neocons are the most unashamedly greedy people since the Huns sacked Europe.

I'm greedy. Everything I do is intended to benefit primarily myself. I don't give a damn whether anyone disapproves. In 5,000 years of civilization, no one has ever come up with a rational argument against self-interest. All the arguments that have been made are lame attempts by moochers and ticks to talk you out of your money and property.

Calling a deduction an "expenditure" is propaganda, not accounting.

Being allowed to keep more of what you earn isn't a "gift," moron. Libertarian economists are against taxes. If mortgage deduction was eliminated, but the rates were not lowered to compensate, every libertarian economist on the planet would be opposed to it.

Are you trying to frame your sociopathy as a virtue? Greedy pricks have always been greedy pricks and have been the biggest drain on society and humanity's worst enemies since the beginning of time.
