Capitalism vs Socialism vs our free enterprise system. What is your choice?

Ok, first you need to realize that a free enterprise/free market system such as you describe does not exist and never has. Both are merely another name for a capitalistic economy; preferences, perks, and special benefits are not a function of capitalism, in fact every economic model and form of gov't shares those same characteristics to some degree. The difference is that capitalism is by far the most successful, and it creates far more wealth and prosperity than any other system. And any time more wealth is created, you're going to have more corruption, greed, and cronyism simply because there's more money to be had. Socialism, communism, you name it, they'll have the same negatives that capitalism does but it isn't as pronounced.

Capitalism is not "A system where the law encourages market forces and also gives preference and special benefits to the sector of the economy", that is actually a problem of poor, ineffective gov't. Certainly market forces are encouraged, but proper and effective gov't does not allow those forces to go unrestrained. And if preferences, perks, and special benefits are allowed then it is our fault as citizens and voters to change the gov't by voting out those who made those things happen. Capitalism is all about choices, as a consumer and as a citizen/voter. If we make bad choices as an individual or as a society then blaming the economic system for creating so much wealth is not the answer.

Cheap shot at FNC, this IS a capitalistic system so they are telling the truth. Maybe you should stop blaming them for the ills of our gov't and society and look elsewhere. I think we should start with the politicians in both parties and the media for not being honest and objective.
I would start blaming the people for being utterly ignorant about the economic system they participate in every day.

What would you blame them for?
Remaining ignorant.

Capitalism is a system of production.

Free enterprise relates to commercial trade.

They are not related.
Not related?

Merriam-Webster, Bankrate, and millions of others disagree with you.

Definition of CAPITALISM

" an economic system characterized by private or corporate ownership of capital goods, by investments that are determined by private decision, and by prices, production, and the distribution of goods that are determined mainly by competition in a free market"

Free enterprise Definition | Bankrate.com

"Free enterprise, also known as free market or capitalism, is an economic system driven by supply and demand. Private businesses and consumers control the marketplace with little to no interference from the government. In this type of system, the government does not have a central plan for the nation’s economy."
Capitalism is a system of production.

Free enterprise is a system of distribution.

I was talking about people, like the OP, who are looking for a scapegoat to blame for our decaying capitalist system.

Capitalism and free enterprise distinctions

Capitalism is best described as the investment of capital to realize a profit and sometimes achieve economic goals.

Free enterprise and free markets is best described as people being left free to pursue economic interests as each sees fit and left free to mutually agree in their contracts and associations.

Capitalists have money working for them, while those involved in free enterprise work for their money.

Capitalism gave us Obama’s green energy investment swindle, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Enron, Bernard Madoff, our current student loan crisis and other capital investment schemes, while free enterprise gave us such things as the phone, the model T Ford, mass production, the mom and pop bakery, local plumber, carpenter, electrician and dentist.

Socialist democrats, like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders, running for office will promise food on the table, free public housing, health care for all, guaranteed income, free college tuition, and other niceties by taxing the so called rich; and if by chance they ever do get political power because of such promises made, their socialist iron-fisted dependency will enslave the very fools who elected them.

You are somewhat mistaken, politics gave us Obama’s green energy investment swindle, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, Enron, Bernard Madoff, our current student loan crisis and other capital investment schemes. Things like the phone, the model T Ford, mass production, the mom and pop bakery, local plumber, carpenter, electrician and dentistry were made possible by free enterprise under the capitalistic system. Free enterprise is another way of saying capitalism. There is no distinguishing between the two.

Thank you for your opinion, but, capitalists have money working for them, while those involved in free enterprise work for their money.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez claims to be an advocate of hard working people living in the Bronx. If that is so, why is she not advocating an end to the unconstitutional “Temporary Victory Tax” of 1943, which began federal confiscation of the bread which working people have earned by the sweat of their labor?

I mean no offense, but this is ridiculous. You don't think capitalists work for their money like everyone else? True, there are exceptions where somebody inherits megabucks and lives off of that wealth, just like there are some who live off gov't welfare and don't do a damn thing to earn it. We live in a capitalistic economic model that has some socialistic policies, but it's still capitalism.

You don't think everyone who has a bank account doesn't have their money working for them? The stock market and every other investment including owning your own home are assets that increase in value over time, at least for the most part. To some degree, we're all capitalists if we have money and spend it. That is because if you have money then you have choices in how you spend it.

You're only a capitalist if you employ capital.

That doesn't make any sense. The two people you refer to, are the same people.

All the people who are working for their money in the free enterprise system, are in fact capitalist.
All the people who are capitalists, have worked for their money.

There are very few exceptions to that. There are some, yes. But very few.

Capitalists have money working for them, while those involved in free enterprise work for their money.
That is what commies hate the most. They can't earn enough money to let that money earn for them, so they want the government to steal everyone else's money and make them poor too.

The sole virtue of Marxism/Communism/Socialism is ENVY!!!

.

And how do Marxists and Communists in our federal government engage in "capitalism" to increase their profits?

Let us not forget how Obama and his pals "invested" billions of taxpayer dollars in green energy . . . 85% of which went to Obama's donors

To be a bit more accurate, capitalism is the investment of capital in anticipated profit making ventures [production, manufacturing, industrial, etc.].

Free enterprise's primary characteristics are: people being left free to pursue their own economic pursuits and interests with the least government intrusion, and left free to mutually agree in their contracts and associations.

The Federal Reserve System of 1913 and the Sixteenth Amendment, also of 1913, have spread the evil tentacles of federal crony capitalism into almost every corner of our once free market, free enterprise system.
