Capitalism works but what is occuring now is bizarro as we are slowly seeing workers treated the way management wants, like dirt bags.

I dont like the occupy movement. Makes zero sense to me. On the other hand, those that still believe the american dream is for everyone use that as a smoke screen. This version of capitalism is I got mine to heck with you. That is scary too. I used to think this country was great.

It doesn't matter at all whether the OWS group (are they somehow all as homogenous as Republicans?) are socialist, communist, animist, maoist, fascist, or republican.

Capitalism is a primitive form of post-feudalism economy that was adapted for a corporate industial society. It won't last.

And the socialism and or communism preferred by Obama, "the progressive movement" and the Occupy slugs has a record for causing wide spread pain, suffering and quite often industrialized extermination of all opposition.

People labored and produced long, long before any concept of "profit" became important. Profitability has not always been the main reason for cooperative labor.

Yes, people did labor and produce long before the concept of profit existed, but they labored for one of two reasons. They were either forced to labor by an existing power, or they labored in their own best interests, to maintain and/or improve their lot in life.

Primative man hunted because it was in his self interest to have food to eat. He learned to hunt in groups because it was more efficient in ensuring food was obtained, but he still only hunted because it was in his personal interest to have food to eat.

People don't operate collectively because they want to serve others, they operate collectively because they perceive it is in their own self interest to do so. Before many of you loons get your panties in a wad, I recognize that many people also do service work out of a pure desire to help others. However, that is normally after their self interests have been satisfied.

Capitalism self-destructed over a hundred years ago. Communism was a complete failure.

Regulated semi-socialist democratic capitalism has proven to be the best system.

Is that so hard to understand?

So what do you blame the self destructing we are having today on...? Capitalism or a system where Government regulates, and then regulates some more, then more... then more.... Oh and more?
