Can't wait for the much-anticipated GOP debates

MODERATOR: May I see, by a show of hands, how many of you would support a constitutional amendment which restricts marriage to a union between one man and one woman?

When the hands go up, it will be a photo which will go down through the ages next to the one of George Wallace standing on the schoolhouse steps.

That would be DEMOCRAT George Wallace, Jake...

I also talked about the lack of choices from the Democrats interesting you didn't try and connect the video to them.

Perhaps, but another way of looking at the issue is that the GOP is seriously fractured and trying to find a cohesive message, while the Dems are fairly united.

My [surely not to be heeded] advice to republicans, is to concentrate on all those senate seats they must defend next year.
He won't win the nomination but I wouldn't call Hillary and the Bernie Sanders wing of the Democratic Party united. He has already forced her to go farther left than she wanted to in the primary and if Elizabeth Warren had run I think she might have beaten Hillary for the nomination.

Then Sanders has done his job...and done admirably.

For me the questions that would be highly "symbolic" would be the show of hands to 3 questions:

1. How many of you believe that the earth is only 6,000 years old?

2. How many of you are planning to overturn and REPLACE the ACA?

3. How many of you believe that we don't have to worry about climate change and global warming?

(Bonus number 4: How many of you should have your heads examined?)

What job was that? Everyone even Hillary supporters know she is not as far to the left as Sanders or Warren and she will reverse course when the general election starts. I have never gotten this go hard left or hard right in the primary and then back to the middle in the general everyone knows you either lied in the primary or in the general.

Actually, Wallace in 1968 ran for president on the American Independent Party.

Well, you're partially correct....but consider two issues:

The first is that such a practice of running on an extreme of your party ina primary and then shifting to the middle, was "perfected" by Reagan and GHWB.

The second is that if Hillary shift to the middle in the general, she may expect quite a few independents and...who knows....even voters like you.

I mean this sincerely, the GOP debates will be "must-see TV".

Just think of how long it will take for every candidate to shake hands with one another.

Just think what inspiring sermons we'll hear from evangelicals like Huckabee and Walker and Jindal

Just think of the sparring between the 2 NJ tough-guys wanna-bes.

Ultimately, it will be good thing to have a doctor on stage.

Pop corn, anyone??

I hear it's going to be sponsored by the WWE.

Is the above a response to munching on popcorn? If so, go for it.

No. I'm referring to the laughing and drinking games we play when Obama tells a lie. We are all stone faced drunk within the first 15 minutes of the speech.

/sarcasm

I just go out to the bar when I hear he's coming on. More Interesting and I can shoot a game of pool. :alcoholic::alcoholic:

Which adequately confirms both the intelligence and sobriety quotient of most republicans, and why right wingers won't see the inside of the oval office for many years to come.

And?

At the time of the Photo he was a dim, after his failed bid he went right back to the dim fold.

Like all but 1 of the segregationists, Wallace remained a faithful dim until he died.

The democratic party was, is, and always will be the home of racism and segregation.

News break: LBJ was a closeted republican?

The above confirms why right wingers' delusions will always trump (pardon the pun) reality.

That only works though if you don't have much of a record to look at that was one of the big advantages Obama had in 2008 a lot of people because of his thin record could look at him and see what they wanted. Hillary has been in the public eye since the 90s so most already know where she stands on the issues.

Thus demonstrating the modern day socially conservative Republicans are the direct political descendants of the Southern conservative democrats of that era.

Do you know why the socially liberal JFK was going to Dallas that fateful day in 1963?

He was there to try to win over the Southern conservative Democrats whose votes he needed for re-election. That's why he was getting some face time with Connally. The Governor represented the right wing conservatives in the party who DETESTED Kennedy.

You dumb shits pretend there is and was only one flavor of Democrat today and yesterday. It just doesn't get more willfully retarded than that.

No one is fooled. We know who the bigots of TODAY are. And they will be identifying themselves with raised hands during the debates.

Here's a question for the GOP panel...Politico is reporting that Hillary Clinton is a birther and in fact her campaign started the whole birther movement against Obama, if nominated will you call Hillary out on this during the general election debates?

Ah yes, the big lie - a specialty of you leftists.

You run every time Jake, but let's play again and expose your lies.

So Jake, as a far left democrat you claim your party was Conservative, and rascals like Faubus or Albert Gore were like today's Republicans.

So then, these men were STAUNCH opponents to the New Deal, the Socialist mandates of FDR, right Jake?

No?

But you lied that they were conservatives?

Well surely they were advocates of a balanced budget - I mean a democrat like Fritz Hollings - Klansman that he was, had to have demanded an amendment to force a balanced budget - after all, you lied that he and the other Dixicrats were conservatives.

No?

Hollings was an outspoken opponent?

Well damn Jake, I guess you're just a fucking liar and the democrats of the segregation era were left wing fools just like you....

The more elbowing and jostling for position takes place before they reach the stage...the more I like the idea of one of the whackjobs going 3rd party. We can only hope.
