Cancer vaccine being forced on girls

They want to give a vaccine of an STD to sixth graders. If the parents want their kids to get them great, but I dont think they should be forced to get them. Especially when the virus can be avoided without a vaccine.

Also at issue, though, are the coercive nature of this decision, a governor who's done an end-run around his state legislature(thwarting the will of the people), and who appears to have accepted hefty campaign contributions from the pharmeceutical company which will produce and distribute this - now MANDATORY - vaccine.

Add to that the belief - held by many parents, and certainly not refuted by any of the vaccine's cheerleaders - that the risk can be minimized through better behavior, without making guinea pigs out of their daughters.

I tend to side with our founding fathers; on a given question, the answer that involves the least interference from government is almost always the better choice.
