How exactly did Canada become this great place with happy people everywhere, healthcare for all, and now legal mj, while we here in the US are still stuck with this contingent of backwards hillbillies who pretend to be Christians but aren't and have some inbred need to make everyone else miserable and cram their fake religion down everyone else's throat and who are militant about it?

Canada has become what America was supposed to be.

If's gotta be the poutine, eh? They get poutine, we get Putin. :dunno:

But serially, maybe they just escaped the infiltration of Puritans. We acted as their filter.
How exactly did we ever get stuck with human train wrecks like Harry Anslinger and J. Edgar Hoover? Makes ya wonder.

The kind of chicanery practiced by those you've mentioned would be punished by public execution in a monarchy or a totalitarian state. But the downside of a system like ours is the kind of rampant political corruption it fosters and enables, even facilitates, which is the abuse of official power and the cloaked criminality engaged in by those two and others like them.

Fun fact: in French Canada (and in France), Vladimir's last name is transliterated as Poutine --- because to spell it the English way would be pronounced as putain, which means "prostitute" or "whore".

I think in Putin's case he'd call a bouquet of roses a Murder of Roses. And a crow would be sitting on his shoulder with a dead rose in it's beak.
