He kicked ass when he went head to head with the Republican caucus.

I think Gingrich will do very well in a debate with Obama. I think the thing that has elevated Newt is that he's been the calm voice while Perry, Romney and Paul have been kind of shrill.

Of course, the Media will declare Obama the winner if he pees himself on stage, but it probably won't matter one way or the other. If the economy is in the same state 10 months from now, the Second Coming of Jesus couldn't save Obama.

Gingrich and Obama would do very well against each other: it could be a titanic struggle.

Does Newt have any money yet?

The Libs are wondering now..
What will Newt be like if he got his you know what together.
He's surging without having the machine that Obama has.
What will team Obama do when Newt is the nominee
and all the Repubs fall in line to support him...

Obama better pray he pulls a rabbit out his arse and he
cooks the books to make unemployment look like it's
real close to 8% at least otherwise he will have his hands full
with a political pro like Newtie.

Obama couldnt out debate the majority of this board.

The man threw a damn fit when forced to use the dictionary definition of a tax.

If it's a Thursday night in the fall of 2012, and there's a televised debate featuring Obama's vapid, market researched sound bites vs Romney's vapid market researched sound bites, I'll be watching Monday Night Football highlights.

At least with Newt, you stand a chance of actually learning something.

How to successfully cheat on your spouse.

That lesson should come from Clinton. He is still married after jumping every woman (or girl) with a hole and a heartbeat.

And still adored by his fans!

.......IDK.......did anybody else see Newt Gingrich in this video clip???:dunno:

I hear Newt has offerred for Obama to be able to use a teleprompter for the debate. But to be fair........to properly handicap the debate, I would be OK with Obama having 3 or 4 "LIFELINE" calls if he so chooses.

Or creatively commit ethics violations.

Are these the 'ethics violations' you refer too?

Newt Gingrich has been cleared!!

Remember the uproar regarding Newt's "ethics violations?" People can refresh their memory by reading an article I wrote in 1997 about these charges. In brief, David Bonior brought 75 ethics charges against Newt, 74 which were found to have no merit whatsoever (and people say that Ken Starr is on a "witch hunt?"). The last charge, whether Newt funded his college class "Renewing American Civilization" properly, was too complicated a tax issue for the committee to investigate on its own, so they brought in an outside tax expert to investigate. Two charges arose out of this investigation.

The first 'charge' from the ethics committee is that he "may have" violated tax law by using tax-deductible contributions from nonprofit organizations to teach an allegedly partisan college course.

The second 'charge' from the committee is that, in the course of the investigation, Newt provided false information to the committee. And what was this "false information?" Newt testified that the above contributions were in fact made by those organizations to "Renewing American Civilization." He filed papers that stated the very same thing. This is never a fact that anyone was trying to hide. But one paper filed with the committee stated that those groups did not make the contributions. For this, there was an uproar about Newt's ethics, and he was fined.

Newt Gingrich Cleared - Now How About a Refund?

David Bonier made it his full time job in the House of Representatives to fabricate ethics violations against Newt. Bonier, facing certain defeat for re-election in 2002, stepped down as the second highest ranking Democrat in the House to run for Governor and lost. He was honored by the Democratic Socialists of America in December 2008.

It was just him debating all of their talking points too. Obama has won debates with Hillary and she is tougher than Newt.

Hey numbskull ...the vote in the full House on the ethics charge (which he plea bargained down to 1) was 395 to 28.
It was REPUBLICAN MAJORITY HOUSE THAT DID THAT.
-------> 395 to 28.

Chew on that.

He wasn't cleared of all charges. The stain still exist. He also ADMITTED he violated House Rules and brought shame to the House.

Here's a fun task for you:

Go to Washington and ask them to pull up the Official list of Representatives who have been expelled, censured, or reprimanded in all of US Congress History.
It's not a long list - Is the name Newt Gingrich there? Yup. Writ large.
They even have that list here: List of United States Representatives expelled, censured, or reprimanded - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

THAT IS A FACT.

Statement Issued by Speaker Gingrich

Published: December 22, 1996

Following is Speaker Newt Gingrich's statement on the findings by a House ethics subcommittee that he violated House rules:

"The investigative subcommittee of the Committee on Standards of Official Conduct has issued a statement of alleged violation. With great sadness, I have filed an answer which admits to that violation.
I would like to comment on the statement as follows:

I place this little tidbit for others here to read and review. People who want to investigate the facts will do their due diligence.

"In its final report, the bipartisan subcommittee wrote that Gingrich's use of the tax-exempt groups and communication with the committee was either "intentional or it was reckless. Neither choice reflects creditably on the House."

"The violation does not represent only a single instance of reckless conduct," the report continued. "Over a number of years and in a number of situations, Mr. Gingrich showed a disregard and lack of respect for the standards of conduct that applied to his activities."

^ Good reading, and it explains how the "IRS clearing" Newt and his little Newtlings like to bring up is not the same as his ETHICS violation.
The IRS didn't clean up the fact Newt mislead and violated the rules and standards of conduct.

He brought shame on the House, and a whopping 395 to 28 vote is good evidence of that.

I can think of a lot of things that bring shame on the house. Like the fact that it spends more than it takes in, for instance.

But please, this was petty complaint #85 where they found a technical violation, and they voted on it to shut them up..

Which they never should have done.

The problem with Beltway Republicans is that deep down, they think they can work with Democrats.

That's pretty hilarious. An overwhelming bipartisan vote against Newt, and you thought is was just to "shut them up."

 A little technicality, eh?

You didn't read the report, did you?

No, because I don't care. It isn't important to me.

Do you know what is important to me. Your worthless, sack of shit community organizer has been president for three years now, and things are worse than when he started.

That's what I care about. That's what most people are going to care about next November.
