Could a guy like David Duke (who was a Klansmen, by definition a racist) be redeemed?

What would it take? When would most people consider such a guy redeemed and no longer racist (if possible)?

Or, is being a racist like being an alcoholic? Once an alcoholic, always an alcoholic, just recovering? Recovering racist?

.

Only Democrats.

Robert Byrd is the tip of the Racist iceberg for the Democrats. Their party is rooted in the KKK and systemic Racism. But the cool thing about being a Democrat is you get this "Never Happened" button. You push it and no matter what disgusting thing you said or did, it never happened.

Redemption is a religious act. Reformed is what many have done for themselves. I was raised racist in the Baptist church and found later in life I was lied to. It is not an easy transformation but I know now how to spot a real racist and why they can not change. So enjoy your racism posters.

Redemption. Reformation.

Whatever.

I am NOT a religious person AT ALL, so I don't really care.

But, who are you referring to when you say "enjoy your racism posters"?

Have you heard of this guy, Daryl Davis? I saw him on CNN's United Shades of America awhile back. He's amazing. The racist has to be ready, of course. You can't just walk up to a racist and "change" them. 200 Klan robes he's collected. That's doing something with your life. How One Man Convinced 200 Ku Klux Klan Members To Give Up Their Robes

Interesting that you mentioned Daryl Davis.

In another thread, we were talking about how Rock and Roll is demonstrative of black and white Americans living as one people.

Blues is another example. It's not white or black. EVERYBODY sings the Blues.

Buddy Guy used to frequently come to Dallas and perform at The House of Blues. The Audience not only covered all races of people, but all people of different cultural genres, from Metal Heads to Cowboys to Hip-Hop guys. It was all covered.

Music seems to be a medium of mutual assimilation.

If he's not physically assaulting anyone, what harm is he doing?

You may as well be speaking of baptism, the context in which you use the word 'racist' and 'change'. The radical left cult of race war truly has become a neo-religion for the masses. Sounds like what you really want to say is, "proselytize the racist from the sinful life of bigotry to the eternal peace and forgiveness of political correctness, anti-amen." Many leftist ideologues who are also atheists make their primary argument against Christianity along the lines of suggesting no man is right in judging another's deeds or something to that effect. And yet, the race war/politically correct "anti-racists" are the first to accuse and convict normal people as racists, and condemn them to the hell of anti-social justice for their "sins". The true name of the radical left race war religion is hypocrisy.

OP is a flawed premise. Assumes racism is a negative personality aspect... Which assumes that looking out for the interests of ones own, before the interests of others is a negative...
The term “racism” is nothing more than a Cucks attempt to vilify a concept as simple as valuing ones own children, higher than that of others, in a negative light. It’s socialist to its core.

The word racist has been so misused that by current standards we would all be racists.

I think it's possible for some to be reformed but I imagine for the majority it's simply going through the motions of reform. With regards to David Duke.......why would he want to change? What is the incentive? He's already been so stigmatized that I doubt he would be given a fair chance. He has no other choice but to embrace it.

I think a more interesting question is can someone who was not racist become a racist.

Your society is rather retarded, David Duke is the villain, who killed no-one, while W. Bush killed 100's of thousands if not millions, tanked the economy, and can still be seen as of value,
unlike David Duke.

YES!

Everyone can be redeemed! :)

One unexpected act of kindness by a stranger who you are suppose to hate, while one is in their own desperate situation, can do just that...!!!

You seem to be erroneously tying in-group preference with hate. Hate is an emotional investment which requires maintenance, and commitment. In-group preference requires only loyalty, and vision.

When it comes to Byrd he could have lied low doing it. He did not. He was like a colorful peacock with many of the state of West Virginia's public projects named after him. And this while he was alive and in office.

It is a negative personality aspect, Vastator. Everyone values their own children higher than others--we all have the smartest, most likeable and good looking kid in the neighborhood. We all KNOW this. That's not racism.
You know what it is. C'mon. Quit playin' around.
