Can Reps modify abortion stance?

A radio talk show host summed up the insanity of the liberal defense of abortions.

If a woman wants her unborn baby and it is killed by someone, then it is murder but if the women doesn't want the unborn baby and she has it killed via sucking its brain/head away its body...then it is legal abortion.....insane.

He said "Do we let owners of dogs determine when they want to kill their dog in the backyard?" So a dog owner can get arrested for killing his dog that he doesn't want to take care of, but a woman can just go kill her unborn baby that she doesn't want.

Now what if that woman is driving to the abortion clinic and a drunk driver hits her car and kills her unborn baby....is the drunk driver charged with murder/manslaughter despite the woman was going to kill the baby in the next hour???

See how fucking stupid the abortion agrument is for liberals. We can also use the opposition to the death penalty but support for abortion angle too.

Republicans believe in "Feed the poor and they will breed". See? For the right wing, "starvation" is a "natural form of birth control".

No. It's their bread-and-butter get out the vote issue. Talk it up ad nasseum during the campaign ... and then crickets chirpping until next election cycle.

Seems they were more interested in abortion, birth control, same sex marriage.
Didn't seem to care a bit about the economy, poverty, the debt.

Yes they campaigned hard on it, labeled it a war on woman, and single woman bought into it. We on the other hand dismissed it as a none issue because we thought the economy was all that mattered. We used the same old default message, and charged the Dems were just trying to change the subject from the economy. It didn't work out well.

It actually worked out quite well. Republicans wanted to put into office a man who has a lot of money invested in companies in China. He was even moving one of his companies to China the same month of the election. Republicans say, "The company was doing poorly", only it wasn't. So they switched to "His money is in a blind trust", until we discovered video of Mitt on Youtube calling a blind trust a "ruse" and a "trick on the American people".

Republicans with their insanely idiotic and ridiculously stupid policies that damaged the country terribly for a decade wanted to put a "pioneer of outsourcing" in charge of creating jobs? If they had to create a "perfect disaster" for this country, it would be that.

Stop with the whining about Obama and take a steady, long hard look at Romney. The only conclusion you can come to is "we dodged a bullet".

You're a fucking lying bitch.

Conservatives give more to charity through churches and other organizations to feed the poor. You live in the world of make believe claiming if a baby isn't killed by its mother via abortion, then the GOP will just kill it via starvation.

Liberal scum like you do support the reality of killing unborn babies.

They want to kill babies so they don't have to feed them, personally.

It's the "hands off" approach to genocide. You corral them into inner city holding pens, you instill a sense of hopelessness in them, and you plant abortion clinics on every corner.

Then it's just a matter of time before you move to the next phase.

Unrestricted abortion is crazy. No one should have the right to end a child's life at 5 months of pregnancy......barring life of the mother, severe birth defects affecting the quality of life of the child, rape, or incest. Anyone who says otherwise is just using it as an extremely self-centered form of birth control who is looking to escape responsibility. Adoption is a good option rather than killing a 5 month (or older) fetus.....or killing the child by placing it in a dumpster in freezing conditions. Stop making excuses for this kind of behavior.

Abortion is a losing issue on a national level for Reps. It's trying to impose moral values on a majority that doesn't want it. It's seeking a political remedy for what is considered a religious issue. 50% of Catholics voted for Obama. Reps seem to be all over the board on the issue while trying to avoid the subject. I think we need a clear, this is what we stand for, message. There are over 1 million abortions in the US every year. We are not outlawing abortion we are moving forward with government sponsored abortion. There is no magic wand to stop abortion, why not use tactics that have a chance of success.

My position on abortion will not change...

Success has nothing to do with it...

Your position may not change but the laws and the country are changing everyday. I am talking about having some input on that change or continuing to lose elections and becoming irrelevant. We need a comprehensive, well reasoned position on abortion that Americans will support. Success has everything to do with what will happen.

Why do Republicans care so much more for a fetus than a child? Children are more thankful.

I agree, if a mother has an unwanted pregnancy she should make a responsible decision early on.

It did work out well for Dems which was my point. The rest of what you said had nothing to do with what we were talking about.

I only repeat what Republicans say.

Besides, this is what liberals believe:

Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

This is what Republicans believe:

[ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AWJh1Z0RCqo]Tool Time: Bachmann, No Work, No Food! - YouTube[/ame]

Now remember, Michelle Bachmann gets farm subsidies.

For some reason, Republicans don't understand that what they say ends up on video tape. Like "let him die".

I couldn't make this stuff up. It would never occur to me.

Radio talk show host :eusa_drool:?? God bless a mother that wants her baby, and yes lets protect her. A woman that wants an abortion is different.

Dogs have nothing to do with unborn babies, Maybe if you were talking about unborn puppies you could make a comparison.

The drunk driver didn't know and didn't care that the woman wanted the baby or not.

Why should they? Should they compromise on their standards and their principles because so many Anericans are dumb as rocks and think that anything is going to change the abortion laws in this country?

Mostly, because it really isn't about the abortions, it's about women having a say over their own bodies.

If they were really interested in reducing the number of abortions, they'd support family and medical leave, they'd support universal health care, they'd support thorough sex educatin and birth control availability... all the things they oppose now that probably cause abortions when someone has to make that tough choice they didn't want to make.

The trick bag the GOP is right now is no one can win the nomination without embracing their radical position on abortion, and no one can win the election while still supporting it.

Is that what the Republican plank on abortion said, whitehall?

The republican majority recognizes that Roe v. Wade is the law of the land regardless of how flawed it is. Most republicans don't have a problem with abortion in the case of rape or incest. Most republicans are against late term abortion and taxpayer funded abortion as well as taxpayer funded condoms for poor coeds who seem to run out of them. Even sleaze ball Bill Clinton offered a political opinion that abortion should be rare. Is that the definition of the word "modify" that you are looking for?

The reason liberals are so quick to attack purported conservative positions on abortion is so that they don't have to explain, much less justify, their own positions. If any liberals out there dispute this assertion, let them explain why they agree or disagree with the following propositions:

1. A woman has an unfettered right to an abortion at any time, including immediately prior to delivery.

2. The government should pay for her abortion if she is poor.

3. The father has absolutely no rights regarding an abortion.

4. The parents of the woman have no rights to be informed, even if the she is a minor.

5. Aborted fetuses may be harvested for stem cell research.

I would also like to know if you agree that abortions should be "safe but rare," and why you think they should be rare.

Are there any honest liberals out there?

That's what we have the legislatures and SCOTUS to do, tinydancer: make those decisions.
