Obama’s declining numbers
In the poll, Obama’s job-approval rating stands at 45 percent, which is down five points from early last month and down three points from late May.

Forty-eight percent in the current survey say they disapprove of his job performance.

What’s more, Obama’s favorable/unfavorable rating is now at 47 percent to 40 percent, down from 49 percent to 38 percent in early May and 52 percent to 35 percent in January.

His scores on other ascpects of the presidency also have declined. In April 2009, 54 percent gave the president high marks for being able to handle a crisis; now it’s 40 percent.

In July 2009, 57 percent gave him high marks for being decisive and for his decision-making; now it’s 44 percent.

And also in July 2009, 61 percent gave him high marks for having strong leadership qualities; now it’s 49 percent.

Not unusual for rankings to sink quickly. I think his ratings are a bit inflated given who he is.

Reagan and Clinton both fared worse around this time. I think Bush 41 did better.

I hope he goes down in flames myself, but hoping isn't going to do the job. I hope we get a really effective Republican congress to undo the damage. But I am not going to count on it.

And the Republican congresses of the 90's made Clinton look good. So if 94 repeats itself, 0bama might just pull his presidency out of the powerdive he is in.

I don't know about those WSJ polls they use on MSNBC all the time. I check RCP on about a weekly basis and he still sits at 48 most of the time.

The polling about the direction of the country, who could say they approve what with a war going on and the biggest disaster in history. I say check polling for congressional campaigns.

Obama will take care of his job approval polls in plenty of time for his campaign. He's a fighter, I'm not sure about some of these skittish congresscritters. I'm just hoping they don't lose the majorities at this point.

Have another look...

3 out of 6 have him now at 45%..

If it weren't for the die-hard-Barry-is-still-a-god folks like you, it would be a lot worse...

Sure he can throw NBC under that big assed bus of his.

How many have landed there already??

Oh wait. I forgot. He tried playing hardball with FOX and that worked out well for him. LOL

Can Obama throw NBC under the bus?

Well,

After seeing him toss out the first pitch last April, I would say that Obama cant throw ANYTHING under ANYTHING.

Sort of just sayin'...well....kinda.

His strength seems to be with tossing people rather than baseballs. Not too shabby with the basketball though.

RCP averages a bunch of them. He's the same as he's been all year.

Talk about die hards, you're just like all the other cherry pickers here. The way I read the polls takes your beloved rasmussen and fox into the mix as well.. Your comment waqs dumb.

The point is, liberal NBC has joined many other left leaning media to acknowledge Obama is sinking. I can hardly wait for Gibbs to slap up NBC in a press conference.

The line I put in bold...

Interesting comment. Not important to him how people think he is doing on their behalf now as long as he is able to clean up the numbers by campaign time.

Very interesting thought process you have.

Not to mention, getting Congress to support many of 0bama's proposals will require clout. Clout obtained by public support for the President.

Clout? Surely you jest... the only clout he has is amongst the tinfoil hat crew. He's a complete joke.

NBC is not linked to the White House the way Fox is to repubs.
David Frum, neocon and close to the Bush White House, said that he used to think that Fox worked for the republicans, but the republicans work for Fox. Frum was fired for saying that.
