Can Obama buy his next term with 1.2 trillion dollars?

It is likely.
And it isn't 1.2 Trillion...but $4 trillion.
Any President that spends a ton of money is almost certain to win the next election.
Americans are easy to fool.

It will be approved, part of the deal made to raise the debt ceiling earlier in the year rather than a new request to raise it further as some of you seem to think. Read the article, it says congress has fifteen days to pass a joint resolution disapproving of the increase and then Obama can veto it. Obama is taking one for the country, and congress gets to pass a resolution washing their hands of it.

Senator Obama was right.

“The fact that we are here today to debate raising America ‘s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the US Government can not pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies. Increasing America ‘s debt weakens us domestically and internationally. Leadership means that, “the buck stops here.’ Instead, Washington is shifting the burden of bad choices today onto the backs of our children and grandchildren. America has a debt problem and a failure of leadership. Americans deserve better.”

– Senator Barack H. Obama, March 2006

When Obama is defeated after he spends 1.2 trillion will you folks finally admit that media is not controlled by the left wing and that the voters vote accordingly?

No, because if they did vote accordingly Obama would never have won to begin with.

So Bush and his Presidency had nothing to do with the election of Obama?
Coming from someone that has voted Republican 95% of the time.

Bush wasn't on the ballet. Bush was hated and rightly so on some issues but he wasn't on the ballet. Obama never, NEVER should have beat Hillary. Both the hate for Bush and the disdain for Hillary were fueled daily by the msm.

Obama had NO RECORD to stand on. He was the least qualified of all the candidates yet he won. Either Americans are really stupid or the msm did its job. Or a bit of both.

Seriously, the catch phrase "hope and change" elected a president? Cause that's all he had.

You, like dave and the rest are IGNORING and backing off the claim that "the media is controlled by the left wing."
So you are claiming that the media that is controlled by the left wing and the voters vote according to that influence, as evidenced by Obama as you claim, then if Obama IS NOT re-elected with 1.2 trillion of left wing controlled media backing then the media is still controlled by the left wing and the voters vote accordingly?
That makes NO sense whatsoever. NO one in political analysis from the conservative side makes that claim.
You folks will never admit when you are wrong. You want it BOTH WAYS.
An Obama defeat after he spends 1.2 trillion on media is PROOF POSITIVE that the voters are not that influenced by ANY MEDIA, be it liberal or conservative.

Are you folks claiming that the Bush Presidency had NO AFFECT whatsoever on voter turnout and the election of Obama?
That Republicans that voted for Bush along with independents voted for Obama without any influence from their opinion of the last 8 years of a Republican President?
If you are that is about as off as it comes folks.

Think Boner's gonna call a special session of congress just to have a hissy fit?

The August debt ceiling legislation states that any resolution of disapproval must make its way through Congress within 15 days of the president’s request.

If Obama announces his position this week, Congress would have to vote on a disapproval resolution by Jan. 14 at the latest.

But the House isn’t scheduled to return to the Capitol until Jan. 17, and the Senate doesn’t return until Jan. 23.

An Obama defeat will be his own doing. You are right. But I submit only for one reason. The media can't spin his first term into a positive no matter how hard they try. He now has to stand on his own. His foundation in the media has faltered and is now dissin on him regularly because he isn't doing enough of what they deem necessary. If the media changes direction and stops attacking him he may very well win. Again, if he does it will be largely because the media began backing him again. His record will not reelect him in a center right country. So if he wins what else is to blame? If the msm was honest about Obama his approval rating would be in the 20's. But most of the population don't know what we know because the msm doesn't report it. So yes, their influence is huge.
