McCain's attempt to score political points by "suspending" his campaign to rush off to DC and save the day, kinda backfired.

Now he looks like a total ass. How's he gonna spin this one?

Cmon mani-----polls ??? Are you slipping here or what ?

Ya---Pelosi couldn't even get her committee chairs on board either---some politicians they are.

2/3 of the Dems voted for the bill. Jesus couldnt get 100% of Dems or Republicans to vote for this bill. The dems knew the number they had and worked with it. If the republicans werent so childish by taking offense to Pelosi's comments then we would have passed the bill. Its the most stupid thing I have seen in a while. We have a bunch of children running our country and that goes for the Dems and the Republicans.

No egg to remove. McCain suspending his campaign to go deal with an extremely important matter was a huge homerun.

Obama should have prayed McCain stayed in DC considering how he got smacked around like a prison ho on national TV.

Didnt have to... she had exceeded the minimal amount of votes needed by the dems.... You forget the role that dems played in this republican bill...

Oh please---minimal number----what kind of horseshit is that ?? If she got too many votes the place was going to blow up or something ?

Umm, what?

So McCain suspends his campaign, says he won't do the debate until a plan is reached, and heads to washinton!

Except that...

ads continue to run.

Surrogates are still on TV speaking.

Volunteers are still going out and knocking on peoples doors...

Ok, so it was only partially suspended. But I'm sure McCain managed to fix the bill when he went to washington, right? Not so much. He put presidential politics into the mix, and sided with House Republicans...the very people who were against the bill.

And then the bill failed. Well then McCain canceled the debate, as he said he would right? Not so much. He went back on his word and went to the debate, even though there was no plan.

But somehow you think that was a success? God you are a partisan hack.

you must get some really good weed!

McCain suspending his campaign last week and saying he wouldn't campaign UNTIL there was a deal would've been brilliant IF we actually got a deal out of it... but guess what...there's STILL NO DEAL and McCain is campaigning....

what did he suspend it for 2 hours, if that? :cuckoo:

Obama looks like the rational, steady leader here. He hasn't made off the cuff remarks or over dramatized this crisis in the least. McCain looks unstable.

When the bailout failed to pass yesterday because the house republicans didn't get on board that showed the weakness of McCain's leadership within his own party. How can he get Democrats to follow his lead as President if he can't even rally his own party?

Go back and read congress 101... christ... this was a republican bill.. Dems gave in way too much just to get as far as they did.. read the dissatisfaction from the congressional black caucuss.. makes me wonder about the rights effects on breeding stupidity..

Drugs these days, making more and more people delusional and out of touch with reality.

Which would explain why Dubya is way out there.

I might have semi believed macs role had he known anything about the economy or actually said more that two words during negotiations...

Oh and another thing Stoner, McCain never suspended his campaign actually.

He just said he was, but actions speak louder then words.

Well, #1 he never suspended his campaign. His ads were still up, he still accepted donations and his spokespeople were still on 24 hour news channels talking about how wonderful a hero he was. But McCain was busy dealing with the bailout package...except he didn't deal with it. He had one or two meetings with a couple of house republicans, but for the most part, he focused on his campaign. He said one line during the meeting between party leaders, obama and bush.

He took credit for the deal being done, except the deal wasn't done and the measure didn't pass. Is he going to re-suspend his campaign to help the republicans come on board?

well yeah, there's the reports that McCain stayed silent throughout the meeting to consider. Makes one wonder if it was just a campaign stunt due to falling poll numbers... oh wait...no it doesn't, this is McCain, of course it was a campaign stunt... that's all he's got

I guess he isn't a uniter after all.

I guess when they were in the meeting, everyone was engaged except for McCain and Obama said, "john, what do you think" and John was stunned.

So this was absolutely political grandstanding. He already admitted that he knows NOTHING about the economy, or how to fix this mess. And, he didn't know it was here just a week ago.
