Cambridge Analytica is fighting a warrant and transferring assets to new company: Channel 4 report

The scope of alleged misdeeds by Trump’s data firm, Cambridge Analytica, continues to spiral[lB] British press has reported that the company was offered hacked emails from Caribbean and African politicians.[/B]

Now, Channel 4 News has reported that Cambridge Analytica is fighting a request by the British Parliament to acquire and execute a warrant.
Britain’s information commissioner, Elizabeth Denham, is trying to send investigators into the company’s offices. This is customary when a company appears to have admitted to committing crimes. Nearly a week after she applied, she is still waiting. Cambridge Analytica asked for an adjournment to take more time yesterday and it was granted.

“They still haven’t seen a single piece of data or document inside Cambridge Analytica,” the Channel 4 reporter says.

There are concerns about what may have happened inside the company. Alexander Nix was suspended after being caught on video appearing to admit to illegal conduct. Nix was subsequently hired by another company owned by Trump-supporting billionaire Robert Mercer and his daughter Rebekah, Emerdata. ...

Actually he had not nothing whatsoever to do with OUR election except report to the FBI, an agency he had worked with many times before of CONNECTIONS between Trumpers and people who should have had NOTHING to do with our elections.

But 'they' don't want to hear that.

What do you expect from anyone who had Steve Bannon on its board?

Wow, I guess it's true what they say, people that are partisan get their lies from tunnel visioned biased sources.

So I am to assume you believe Cambridge Analytica stole something or did something illegal?

The only thing they did, is once they had the date, which they gathered according to FB rules, completely legally and above board, they then shared it, and FB didn't like it b/c it was against their policy, boo hoo.

Update on March 17, 2018, 9:50 AM PT: The claim that this is a data breach is completely false. Aleksandr Kogan requested and gained access to information from users who chose to sign up to his app, and everyone involved gave their consent. We Maintain Strict Standards and Policies

Protecting people’s information is at the heart of everything we do, and we require the same from people who operate apps on Facebook. In 2015, we learned that a psychology professor at the University of Cambridge named Dr. Aleksandr Kogan lied to us and violated our Platform Policies by passing data from an app that was using Facebook Login to SCL/Cambridge Analytica, a firm that does political, government and military work around the globe. He also passed that data to Christopher Wylie of Eunoia Technologies, Inc.

Like all app developers, Kogan requested and gained access to information from people after they chose to download his app. His app, “thisisyourdigitallife,” offered a personality prediction, and billed itself on Facebook as “a research app used by psychologists.” Approximately 270,000 people downloaded the app. In so doing, they gave their consent for Kogan to access information such as the city they set on their profile, or content they had liked, as well as more limited information about friends who had their privacy settings set to allow it.

Although Kogan gained access to this information in a legitimate way and through the proper channels that governed all developers on Facebook at that time, he did not subsequently abide by our rules."

The FBI Hand Behind Russia-gate
The FBI Hand Behind Russia-gate

"If congressional investigators have been paying attention, they already know what former weapons inspector Scott Ritter shared with Veteran intelligence Professionals for Sanity (VIPS) colleagues this week; namely, that Fusion GPS’s Glenn Simpson, who commissioned the Russia dossier using Democratic Party money, said he reached out to Steele after June 17, just three days before Steele’s first report was published, drawing on seven sources.

“There is a snowball’s chance in hell that this is raw intelligence gathered by Steele; rather he seems to have drawn on a single ‘trusted intermediary’ to gather unsubstantiated rumor already in existence.”

Another VIPS colleague, Phil Giraldi, writing out of his own experience in private sector consulting, added: “The fact that you do not control your sources frequently means that they will feed you what they think you want to hear. Since they are only doing it for money, the more lurid the details the better, as it increases the apparent value of the information. The private security firm in turn, which is also doing it for the money, will pass on the stories and even embroider them to keep the client happy and to encourage him to come back for more. When I read the Steele dossier it looked awfully familiar to me, like the scores of similar reports I had seen which combined bullshit with enough credible information to make the whole product look respectable.”

It is now widely known that the Democrats ponied up the “insurance premiums,” so to speak, for former British intelligence officer Christopher Steele’s “dossier” of lurid — but largely unproven — “intelligence” on Trump and the Russians. If, as many have concluded, the dossier was used to help justify a FISA warrant to snoop on the Trump campaign, those involved will be in deep kimchi, if congressional overseers do their job.

How, you might ask, could Strzok and associates undertake these extra-legal steps with such blithe disregard for the possible consequences should they be caught? The answer is easy; Mrs. Clinton was a shoo-in, remember? This was just extra insurance with no expectation of any “death benefit” ever coming into play — save for Trump’s electoral demise in November 2016. The attitude seemed to be that, if abuse of the FISA law should eventually be discovered — there would be little interest in a serious investigation by the editors of The New York Times and other anti-Trump publications and whatever troubles remained could be handled by President Hillary Clinton.

Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-South Carolina, who chairs the Judiciary Subcommittee of Judiciary on Crime and Terrorism, joined Sen. Grassley in signing the letter referring Christopher Steele to the Justice Department to investigate what appear to be false statements about the dossier. In signing, Graham noted the “many stop signs the Department of Justice ignored in its use of the dossier.” The signature of committee ranking member Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-California, however, was missing — an early sign that a highly partisan battle royale is in the offing. On Tuesday, Feinstein unilaterally released a voluminous transcript of Glenn Simpson’s earlier testimony and, as though on cue, Establishment pundits portrayed Steele as a good source and Fusion GPS’s Glenn Simpson as a victim."

So now Cambridge Analytica is “Trump’s firm”. You people are just so laughable. All they did was hire the firm for data, just like Dems hire data collection firms for their political targeting purposes. Facebook sells people’s data, that’s how they make money. Now the left are trying to throw Facebook under the bus and blame a data collection firm for the election loss.

Just another butthurt left narrative so they can all go on believing in their failed policies.

Sad, the denial.

And yet, nobody is bringing up Hillary and the Democratic Party and the criminal behavior they engaged in with the Dossier.
Try another tack. That was FACT CHECKED over and over. End of story.
Fact checked and found accurate...that Hillary Clinton and the Democratic Party colluded by paying 12 million to a British spy to create a fake Russian Dossier with fake dirt on Trump, which was then used to spread fake allegations by the crooked media in order to derail the Trump campaign (and then the presidency), and with the help of the Obama admin officials, FBI and CIA leadership LIE in FISA court in order to open unsubstanciated and unconstitutional wiretaps on Trump associates. Basically forming a criminal conspiracy to take down a presidential nominee and then a presidency. McCabe going down in flames is just the beginning.

As they say it isn't over until the fat lady sings. The Horowitz report will initiate a second special council, which will end with Comey, Clapper, Hillary, Brennan, McCabe, Stzrok, Page, Rice, Power, Lynch, Podesta, etc. possibly looking at indictments and possible jail time.

Then the fat lady will start singing.

You know, I looked into this Cambridge thing, and an interesting little fact showed up.

Did you know that they formed in 2013? They are an off shoot of SCL, and the really interesting thing is Republicans started winning a whole bunch of races when they stood up.

I wonder how many Republicans used them for reelection? We already know Bolton used them to sway opinion.

I read the EULA and the TSA's. Of course "We," as in most users, but me, don't have a clue. They are all dumb and idiots.

They have no clue, THEY are the products, not the customers.

You are complaining about the behavior of one of the customers, is it any wonder FB took a hit on the markets from investors today?

There is nothing ILLEGAL about the buying and selling of metadata. Nothing they have been doing are, or were doing, was illegal.

FB just didn't like how they used it, and it was against their policy, that is why they ended their relationship with them.

Other than that, there are no legs to this story, and nothing is going to change, mostly because this is how the internet operates. If laws were passed, or any serious consequences were suffered, the it would damage the tech economy. It is how Google operates, and it is how Apple operates. In fact, as Snowden told everyone, and after the discovery of a certain room, it is also how the NSA and all the other Intel agencies operate. Most systems have back-doors for the Intel agencies. They know what is going on. Your info is their bread and butter once you let it out.

YEP, SURE! That's why the FBI has always taken his calls. Give it up. It's over. He's in. He's solid. He's listened to. He and/or his partner has SPENT hours and hours with investigators.
