Calling the Republican Bluff

The GOP wants to hold America's Middle Class hostage for a tax break for the wealthiest few.

Those who can least afford things are being held hostage so those who can most afford things can afford more.

Under Clinton the wealthiest did very well thank you. Let the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest few (unpaid for) expire.

What do you guys mean the people we "think are rich"?

If the richest 2 or 3% aren't rich, who is?
There are no rich. There are no poor. They aren't distinct classes because there are none. We are all men and women. We all have the rights to pursue our lives as we choose.

K... I guess I choose to be born to a family of white hotel barons with a fuck-ton of money (but aren't in any way rich)?

Seriously though, we do have the rights to pursue our lives as we choose, but because of economic differences people don't always have the opportunity to do so. If you are born to a poor family in a poor community in the South, your chances of a successful life aren't nearly as good as somebody born to a rich family in a rich neighborhood with nice schools and real jobs.

This really isn't something that is debatable.

What can be debated is what the government should do about it. Libs think for some reason that the government should promote the general welfare of its people, but who knows where they get that BS from?
