The problem is that it encourages some of the less radical people in the state to move elsewhere.
Then they bring their somewhat more radical (in comparison) views to where they are moving.

It's like when people from the metro area nearby started flooding our rural area to flee the socialist disaster they helped build.
They moved in and started trying to change everything into the shithole they had just fled from.

They used phrases like ... "We came here for the wholesome, family oriented, country values and to protect our children".
They have a hard time understanding we were fine before they got here ... And they can take their silly crap back where they came from.
