Not to bad for a state that contributes alot more to the national nanny then most.

I dont really feel bad for em though, look who they elected. They knew what they were getting into.

I dont feel bad for people that build homes in natural disaster area's either so dont feel bad.

There's much more to this story....

Money flows from Mexican workers in the United States to Mexico are approaching $20 billion a year.

workingimmigrants.com: How Mexicans in U.S. send money back to Mexico

That puts money from US illegal workers as one of the top 5 industries in Mexico.. There is a REASON many are living 12 to a house and living in poverty.. Their family back home in Mexico is becoming Mexican middle class.

What's that about 20% of the population?

And that's based on the "official" definition of poverty, too, isn't it?

Throw in the those working poor who are also living in "unoffical" poverty and I'll bet the actual percentage of people who are so financially unsound that they are living paycheck to paycheck is more like 50% of the Golden State's population.

That is definitely NOT a formula for a civil society, folks.

Surprisingly, most of the illegals don't think they are living in poverty. They think they are doing pretty good, better than at home. Of course if you measure the poverty in America to the grinding poverty of a mexican village it's understandable.

Really? How does California "contribute to the national nanny"? California has always paid more to the Federal government than it receives. For every dollar that CA gives, it gets back 0.78 cents. Seems like CA is always contributing to the Red state's coffers...
