California is changing its standards for when police can kill under a law signed Monday by Gov. Gavin Newsom, as it tries to deter police shootings of young minority men that have roiled the nation.



"We are doing something today that stretches the boundary of possibility and sends a message to people all across this country that they can do more and they can do better to meet this moment," Newsom said as he stood alongside family members of people killed by police.

Well, don't know for sure but looks like he might be on the way to making California look like the city of SF. Crime runs rampant there widows smashed, tourists robbed, people doing drugs and OD'ing in the middle of the sidewalk as women on their lunch break step over their bodies. Police overwhelmed with no power to do anything on the street, homeless getting paychecks to stay using drugs on the street instead of getting the help they desperately need.

If I were a cop in California I'd be leaving in one big hurry. As a certified LEO officers can get jobs in other States.

in court? Running away? Hiding in some bushes? Hand to hand combat? Simply letting criminals go because they know
police will not stop them anymore?

If I was a young law enforcement officer I would think twice about serving in California.
This law seems to be filled with dangers for officers from second guessing judges and juries.

I am not in favor of shooting when unnecessary, of course, but this law tips the scales and makes the police potential victims of bad law that holds them to an unrealistic standard that cannot be justifiably applied in split second shoot or be killed situations. It's more grandstanding by America's most disgraceful politician....Gavin Newsom.
