California Close To Getting It Done

I paid $5.04 a gallon last week when I was in that fucked-up state.
Man, do they have issues.

California has a habit of passing laws that are thereafter ignored. They sounded good at the time, but there was never the money to get the project off the ground.

A few years ago California passed an initiative to build and fund a state of the art stem cell research facility. A couple of years ago, California passed a bill to build a high speed rail line from Las Vegas to Los Angeles.

We have raised taxes to pay for these things, there just wasn't ever enough raised.

California passed the Millionaire's Tax, after which many of the millionaire's left the state. California passed the Lottery which was supposed to give up unlimited funds to pay for education. California legalized medical marijuana to generate revenue. The last pot clinic in the northwest of Los Angeles county was closed today for illegal activities.

It isn't so much that California does nothing, it's that everything it does is wrong.

From your article, and is anything but close to getting it done:

He called the bill, which does not include funding to cover the projected $250 billion annual cost of running the single-payer system, the first step in a "many year project" that will likely require asking voters to approve financing. He encouraged members to support the bill to allow the policy discussion to continue.

This is just an election year ploy. Good grief!

that bill was voted down by the voters.....

The last pot clinic in the northwest of Los Angeles county was closed today for illegal activities.

what i saw on the news was that those closed were violating the State Regulations on Pot Clinics......the ones complying are still open.....there are plenty elsewhere.....
