There is a liberal state on the verge of falling off the cliff financially. Things are so bad that nobody even want's to talk about it.

California bureaucrats just took 10% more of all paychecks from its residents starting tomorrow. The question is, why is this not all over the news? California basically just stole money in a forced manner b/c they are to stupid and incompetent to watch their own dollars. But don’t worry folks of California, they say you will get it all back. Eventually.

It's surprising that totalitarians are on the march, and nobody fights an inch. Is this a future for all of us on a federal level?

Reporting from Los Angeles and Sacramento - Starting Sunday, cash-strapped California will dig deeper into the pocketbooks of wage earners -- holding back 10% more than it already does in state income taxes just as the biggest shopping season of the year kicks into gear.

Technically, it's not a tax increase, even though it may feel like one when your next paycheck arrives. As part of a bundle of budget patches adopted in the summer, the state is taking more money now in withholding, even though workers' annual tax bills won't change.

Think of it as a forced, interest-free loan: You'll be repaid any extra withholding in April. Those who would receive a refund anyway will receive a larger one, and those who owe taxes will owe less.

California to withhold a bigger chunk of paychecks

If California was a Liberal state then Prop 8 wouldn't of passed and they wouldn't have a Republican Governor. Now if you said that certain parts of California are extremely Liberal then you would be correct.

California is represented in US Congress by 2 Senators and 53 Representatives. Both senators are Democrats, 34 out of 53 Congressmans are Democrats, 18 are Republicans and one seat is vacant.

California State Assembly has 80 seats, 51 are Democrats, 28 are Republicans and one seat is vacant.

Are you still saying that California is Republican state because of Governor is Republican? Think again.

We all know "republican" Schwarzenegger is and how he got in power. California isn't even blue anumore, it's red. Liberal, or should I say communist red.

Your definition of liberal is as skewed as those who kiss Obama's ass. ;)

to be sure this is the only country in the world in which liberals are big government types. Me I don't call them liberals as I am unwilling to give credit where it is most assuredly not due.

Didn't CA temporarily issue IOU's for tax refunds last year?
If I lived there, I'd be a bit nervous about this forced loan from me.

Anyone who is a "big government" type is not liberal. ;)

So I guess Obama being in the pocket of big business is not a Liberal. Just a dirty rotten politician.

California sucks, I have to move, gas is 3 bucks a gallon, butter is 5 bucks a pound, eggs 3 bucks, hamburger is 5 bucks a pound.

They just raised the tax on my truck, 600$ a year.

Now they will take my money, i will have to check and see monday about changing my withholding.

last year they held my tax return for six weeks.

At least Arnold spent 2 billion on hydrogen, 2 billion on stem cell research, 1 billion on after school activities. Not to mention every year for the since Arnold has been governor california has borrowed money. Now water rates are going up, electrical rates are going to skyrocket.

Time to pack up and move.

Sounds like nothings changed since I left 20+ years ago, cept the prices went up.

Some mentioned change of witholding. Would that help anything?

California has been on this path of self destruction for decades. It is the perfect example how our nation will end up with liberals running it. We ain't done folks, you better bury your money, because Obama is coming for it. Welcome to socialism America.

Check this out:

Reporting from Sacramento - The state Legislature is quietly seeking to block a steep cut in lawmakers' salary and perks.

Executives of the Assembly and Senate have asked the state attorney general to determine whether the scheduled 18% pay reduction and additional 18% cuts to living expenses and car allowances are illegal. The lowered benefits are due to kick in next month, while base pay is set to be slashed from $116,000 to $95,000, starting with lawmakers elected next year.

California Legislature tries to block steep cut in pay and perks

They are perfectly willing to raise taxes on average $1400 a year, then they withhold an extra 10%. Now they fight any pay cuts for themselves during a mess they created as though they did a good job?

So, they have no issue with anyone elses money, as long you just leave theirs alone. It's becoming a recurring mentality isn't it? Sounds alot like the healthcare that the public will get, which will be god enough for the public, but not quite good enough for our ruling class.

On the second thought, even they are saying it's interest free loan, it's actually a tax increase. It's easy to calculate it, with the coming inflation, the tax grows while you wait. Right?

But Californians should look at the bright side. Sacramento will to get to Californian's paychecks first, before Obama does. :)

Sad thing is that Arnold could stop this, the politician could stop this, but they wont. Arnold is telling us we can buy the worthless bonds before the banks, the banks wont touch them but Arnold says he is doing us a favor, we get to buy the bonds first. He even says they will be used to fund stem cell research and green energy.

California is big liberal cesspool.

Looks like California is heating up.

There were three California Republicans who signed a no taxes pledge and double crossed their voters and voted with Democrats for the latest tax increase.

Voters in Anthony Adams district now turned against him and collecting signatures to schedule a recall election.

"Those Californians who do not live off the public dime want to make sure that those legislators who claim to represent the interests of taxpayers will continue to do so... Quite frankly, those who pay the bills don’t have time to travel to Sacramento to engage in this mindless Kabuki dance. Recalling a legislator who stabbed us in the back is a good way to remind other legislators that there are certain acts which are unforgivable and punishable by the political death penalty known as recall."

Yep, I'd say the odds of them getting back their money is less than optimal. It's stealing, pure and simple.

And if you follow the trend, where California goes, so does the rest of the country.
