The lax drug laws in CA are similar. If you assault, rob or cheat and you're sober, you go to jail. If you assault, rob or cheat and are under the influence, you're an "innocent drug addict" and immediately released back on the streets. They've taken the new drug laws to mean "all things done while under the influence are no longer crimes" instead of just being on drugs not being a crime. Trust me. This is how it is happening in CA with judges and sentencing.

So, if you want to go on a theft or assault binge without consequence, just be under the influence of drugs (or an illegal alien) and do as you please. There will be no consequences for your "poor innocent" behaviors.
