Cain WIDENS Lead

The thing to note is that Romney never moves down. He only moves sideways or gradually up.

I prefer Cain. I don't mind the goofy on foreign affairs, and I think the sex stuff is just the usual perverted snuffling around conservative candidates. The guy is christian, therefore he is into S&M, in the closet, etc etc. Imagining black republican sex is the only thing the Dems will acknowledge is porn.

It does look like Cain's numbers are following the pattern of the season. Someone sneaks under the radar, makes a good speech that sends their numbers soaring, then all the attack dogs move as a pack to that guy and he crashes and burns. Or more usually shoots himself in the foot in a spectacular manner. Meanwhile Romney goes up by a single point.

It looks like Romney is very much into grab onto someone who makes a real solid commitment, grabs and holds on and moves to the next one. It is 3 yards and a cloud of dust, but every time the dust settles, he seems to be just a bit further along. And all the Trumps, Bachmans, Palins an Perrys are magled wrecks in the far distant rear.

I still don't want Romney. don't want at all. But so far he has been the energizer bunny, and all the others have traded position as flash and crash.

I think if Cain maintains he's cool - and doesn't do anything dumb - he'll do just fine in outliving the pack as the party's nominee.

Historically, the front runners are almost never nominated. I think this shows Gingrich in a good place to come out with the nomination. BTW, I think it's time Perry, Bachmann, Santorum, Huntsman, and Paul all ditch the race.

That's because historically the front runners are only up front because of the MSM propping them up. In this case it is different, the MSM has not propped Cain up, he is getting there through his own efforts. Good for him, he still has my vote.

A lot of independent voters who are not 100% on the GOP winner will still vote for the GOP for the same reason independents voted for Obama,,,they will pull the lever and hold their nose,,,Just like Homer Simpson did,,,,it is going to be an "Anyone But Obama" vote in the end.

Oh cry me a river. I can't stand the way so many conservatives complain about people somehow being victimized somehow.

The only people who believe that are the people who never would have voted for him under any circumstances.

You know the president's approval rating went up 6 points, right?

The GOP still has to put someone up for office who isn't an embarrassment.

The Obama years are so BOOORING ! there are no sex-scandals. Remember the Clinton Years? Bill Clinton was every Comedians Dream Come True. We laughed and laughed for eight years of sex scandals,,,,and now we fall asleep and/or change the channel when Obama speaks. He is the most boring president in decades,,,and I thought Bush was boring. Thats why we need someone like Herman Cain as President !!!

clintons sex scandals did not publicaly start until 1998 when paula jones sued him for sexual harrasment which is when the lewinski affair broke.........

1. i think you'll find that most of the polls were taken before cain's most recent scandal.
2. do you really think someone should be president who paid a woman $35,000 to be quiet?

really?

and even if you don't go there, the guy doesn't know what a neocon is; doesn't know china has nukes; can't say whether he'd negotiate with terrorists;

but we want the most ignorant people running government, right?

First, I believe I address the fact that it was before the made up scandal in the OP.
Second, the organization paid the woman and it's common in even frivolous lawsuits to settle.
Third, your assertion on China and no nukes and can't say he would negotiate with terrorism? Please back up where he said that and no huffingglue post thank you.

I know I wouldn't vote for a president that sniffed cocaine, only achievement was a failed community organizer, sat in antiAmerican, antisemitic and antiWhite church for years, and a man who believes there are 57 states!

if you knew that, why bother with the thread? i personally find the right's being ok with sexual harassment pretty ugly.

the organization paid the woman because he was PRESIDENT of the organization. And yes, there are a lot of reasons to settle. But then they should remove the gag from her ability to respond, shouldn't they?

Why would you care what someone did in college? I care what people are today. And Cain is totally and completely unknowledgeable about anything having to do with policy. If I want someone to run a business, I'd be happy to talk to him. But I'd prefer that someone running this country actually have some sense of foreign policy and doesn't think it's cute to call Uzbekistan "uz-bekki-bekki-bekki stan".

And I sure as hell don't want someone who says he's pro choice and then says that he'd make choice illegal... and it's up to the family to decide if they'll break the law??

really? seriously. if you said you liked huntsman, i'd say.. ok, smart guy. certainly capable. but this one?

So you want a guy to run on his record? Obama had not record when he ran in 2008 and he has a FAILED record now.

You still haven't provided proof of you attacks China and nukes!

How will Obama beat up on Cain? Will Obama accuse Cain of wearing bedroom slippers, eating fast food, watermelon, eating at Joe's Ribs & Chicken, accuse all White cops of being Stupid when arresting black men for shooting white cops?

He definitely cannot claim to be more black than cain. :D

And it is also common to vet any legal entanglements a prospective President has been involved in.

You mean like the validity of birth certificates, and shit like that asswipe?

The time for riding that horse is long gone, now he has to come up with something better.

Wrong. Paula Jones first leveled her accusations during the campaign. Then there's also the case of Jennifer Flowers and numerous other "bimbo eruptions."

A few thoughts here, while it's a litttle over the top in my humble opinion to dredge up a 12 year old incident from one's past that few if any of us really know all the details on is anything but a little more than political in nature. Having said that Mr. Cains reaction to the story has not been handled very well on his part and made him look less than capable in the eye's of some. While a skeptic of the current President, I see nothing in terms of Herman Cain to convince me that he would ever be able to compete on a nationwide basis with him. His lack of knowledge on foreign affiars as well as a stance on domestic policy, while appealing to some in the base does not appeal to a good number of those who would actually come out and vote in a general election, in short I do not believe Herman Cain is electable regardless if he gets the party nod or not. As for the other currrent front runner on the Republican side, Mitt Romney, his ability to change his stance on just about every single issue would eventually be a weakness in a general election and led to his defeat in his Senatorial race against Kennedy. I submit that many Republicans are still looking for a candidate to support and this is might be the reason why you see someone like Herman Cain , who for last decade who's only job has been as a corporate speaker in the party lead.

Suddenly it is Karl Rove who dug this up. It must have become an embarrassment then.

"on no, us democrats never do anything sleazy, underhanded or disgraceful. Oh my oh no, not us ever...."
